How did a man assemble a weapons, charge through a security checkpoint, get a shot off on a Secret Service member, and multiple shots fired by the secret service, and somehow they all missed.

Reading more about it, this has been protocol for decades the way they set up security for this event.  Recipe for disaster.

Yep, taken down fast, sure.  But I find it galactically hard to believe a man with multiple guns -- who, while running, was the only one to shoot and hit someone -- didn't end up riddled with bullets.

I understand why people want to attribute conspiracy to this because it's a more palatable explanation than people are simply cracking over the simple inability to enforce accountability and someone tried to ineffectively rush an event.

And furthermore, it's an event full of people who have been openly threatened, derided, and insulted for a decade now clapping like seals for this admin.

Nothing turbocharges disillusionment like the gunman seemed to be facing quite like reading how bad things seem to be and those very people reporting those things yucking it up over dinner and drinks. Anyone who didn't boycott this dinner in the first place receives no pity from me besides the venue employees.
