Welp, we've got one eligible PG and a lot of backup C's who pushed a potentially good C out the door. #LastYear

Is that last year in the context of don't forget how bad last year was or last year in the context of its Shakas last year?
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Five-star wing Jordan Page announced his commitment to UConn men's basketball on Sunday, giving the Huskies their first recruiting class with two ESPN five-star prospects in at least 20 years.

Page chose UConn over North Carolina after taking visits to both schools in September.

With Page, the No. 14 prospect in the SC Next 100, in the fold alongside No. 12 NaVorro Bowman Jr., coach Dan Hurley now has the top two committed prospects in the Class of 2027.

Hurley sucks - can't even land top-10 recruits. Thank goodness he's not Marquette's coach.

Has the right priorities. Freshman should've never been ruled eligible. Nor should they be able to leave after one year or go from high school to the NBA.

tiptonedits NEWS: Dink Pate is leaving Providence after a months-long battle with the NCAA over his eligibility, per Kevin McNamara.
The 20-year-old is expected to sign an Exhibit 10 deal with an NBA team, ending his pursuit of playing college basketball.

I don't think the 4th starter will be any kind of surprise.

Seems like this was inevitable. Villanova is just much bigger than the rest of them and needs to schedule accordingly. It also feels like this was a relic and not as many people really care any longer.

Providence goes 0-3 on eligibility cases. Add Pinion and Simpson to the Dink Pate not eligible list. Interesting thing is a PC grad judge ruled Pinion and Simpson not eligible.

The Athletic's Brendan Marks and CJ Moore rank Nigel James as the 46th best player in college basketball this season:

46. Nigel James Jr., sophomore guard, Marquette
2025-26 stats (at Marquette): 16.9 PPG, 4.9 APG, 3.4 RPG, 1.9 SPG, 34.7 3PT%

Here's what Marks had to say:

James would've been my preseason Big East Player of the Year, and I'm comfortable driving his hype train. Shaka Smart quickly turned the keys over to the 6-foot freshman, who posted a top-20 assist rate nationally and a top-100 usage rate, per KenPom. James has unreal burst and body control, plus an ability to freeze defenders on his drives that belies his age. He also posted gaudy counting stats despite shooting below the national average at the rim and in the paint, so there's room for him to improve. With a pick-and-roll partner in Louisville transfer Sananda Fru, I'm buying James to be one of this season's biggest risers.

Other Big East players ranked:

9. Silas Demary, UConn
14. Quinn Ellis, St. John's
17. Braylon Mullins, UConn
39. Tounde Yessoufou, St. John's
48. Najai Hines, UConn

Zero Weasels on the list, though new Dookie John Blackwell is #8.

MSU's Jeremy Fears, whom we'll see in Sunday's exhibition is #1.
