If it was a real game I'd agree, but based on how those exhibition games tend to go, it probably won't have the intensity and meaningful takeaways that a game that mattered would.

Maybe, but look at some of the high-profile exhibition games from last year, like Michigan/St. John's and Kentucky/Purdue. Those were pretty intense. UConn/MSU was as well.

I thought the same when I went to the DePaul vs. ND preseason game last year.  I think ND thought they would roll DePaul.  When DePaul was winning with their starters in the second half, ND put theirs in and it was a fairly intense game. 

No one wants to lose.  If it's close, the main rotations will play a surprising amount of minutes.

If it's a blow out either way, "its just an exhibition game".
