Good luck to Tre at his next landing spot.  He seemed like a good guy, teammate, etc.

Quote from: #UnleashThePortal on March 31, 2026, 03:18:36 PMthe only ones left from my to go list full send are Caedin, Clark, and Philips.

If you couldn't find time on this roster this season its time to go. Marquette has 3 more redshirt freshman to give a shot.

What's the deal against Philips? Guy had offers from some respected high majors, and was supposed to be in High school. Kinda seems like the type of attitude that would've written off any rarely used freshman.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

MU will be back as soon as November. And it will be a tremendous rebound season imo.  I believe we will get the necessary pieces/weaponry and Scoopers will rejoice.

Remember, Remember,
Badassery is coming in November.

Mark my words.  :)

Lol. The irony of calling out other people's cognitive abilities while simultaneously spelling "neurodivergent" wrong.

Quote from: #UnleashThePortal on March 31, 2026, 03:11:33 PMThe dominoes will be falling. The roster may very well be Nigel, Adrien, Royce, and Damarius at the end of the week.
Pearson, Walker, Miletic already signed for next year, correct? Plus Alex Egbuonu and Ethan Johnston. That's nine
I certainly hope that Phillips and Clark stay as well. That's 11. If the minutes aren't there for Phillips next season, he could develop his body and game as a redshirt. Very high ceiling. If he has good offseason, he might be too good to redshirt.
One thing I've never understood on this board is why people tend to group Hamilton and Clark together. They have very little in common, other than neither received a D-1 offer. Clark has a high ceiling. Will he ever reach it? Who knows, but if he had received Hamilton's minutes this year he might be a lot farther along. Hamilton's ceiling is as Division II starter, but he's not there yet. At this point more like an eighth man at an average D-II school, a seldom-used reserve in a good D-II program, neither athletic nor skilled enough to be in the rotation of a winning D-II program.

I thought it was pretty clear we were only talking about players who played minutes and were rostered, not incoming.

But @Nukem2 and @Vander Blue Man Group got the better deal of 2 years with the Sean news added in.

I was not confident Shaka would be willing to run off guys.  Kudos to him.
Sean and Tre are in the transfer portal, not exactly being run off. Now if it were Hamilton and Clark I would agree with your statement.

Color me intrigued.  Do you think "running guys off" means they won't enter the portal?  What do you think they'll do?  Quit basketball?

Yup. MP has a great-looking shot, and shooters are always a need. Good wingspan and height, and his teammates seem to really like him.

Needs to improve his all-around game, but he's young, and Shaka has described him as a very hard worker.

Absolutely a keeper IMHO.

Quote from: Vander Blue Man Group on March 31, 2026, 03:36:43 PMOwens is back.  There's no reason for Phillips to move on.  Anyone with a functioning set of eyes can see there is a nice ceiling there.

The only guys that make sense to move on are:

Tre
Sean
Caedin
Josh

And if Caedin and/or Josh stay, that won't prohibit a good team next season.

Which, combined with Zaide, would be five transfers. So maybe the 5-6 transfer folks weren't as out of line as you portrayed them.

A player you were all drooling over before he arrive who you all can't wait to get rid of now.  Not only has Shaka turned this program into a dumpster fire, but he is also showing himself to be a fraud.  He'd fit in perfectly here on Scoop.

Yeah, there's one pathetic fraud who said 4 years ago that he was "done" with Marquette basketball ... yet he keeps showing up on Scoop to yammer clueless claptrap about Marquette basketball. What an effen fraud, huh?

I said those are the guys that it could make sense to move on.  I did not say that I expect all of them to move on.

I'd be absolutely shocked if we bring in 5 or more transfers - that hasn't changed.

I'm aware. 4 is a possibility now that Tre is moving on, although I'd be a little surprised.

Happy to admit I was wrong if we see 5 or more.

I said I was done with Marquette basketball.  I didn't watch one game this year.  I never said I was done with the lunatic asylum that is scoop.   Where else can I watch grown men melt down like babies at the slightest criticism of their beloved Golden Eagles.   Getting a VBMG tantrum is priceless.
