Whoever the Brewers face will have a significantly smaller payroll.  Should the other fanbase look at Milwaukee the way Brewer fans looked at the Dodgers?

While true, its entirely due to two players (Yelich and Woodruff), one of whom will likely not even play.

The'll have triple the payroll of the Guardians or Rays?

Jockey

The dodgers will continue to be good because they buy multiple HoFers.

But the dynasty is over. I see a definite parallel with that Yankees dynasty of the early 2000's.

The Dodgers have not shown the will to let their young players replace aging veterans. So they will sign Skubal and let their HoF starting staff cover their deficiencies.

I'm betting my 4th house on the brewers for that reason

They have the second best minor league system in baseball. If it's over, it's not because they're "unwilling to let their young players replace aging vets." It's because their owner is in legal trouble.

The Dodgers largely use their highly ranked minor-league system to include young ballplayers in trades for established MLBers. It's one reason they are always able to make trade-deadline deals. Not that they're asking me, but I see nothing wrong with that.

Yes, as soon as the Brewers sign the two best players every year to insanely inflated contracts. It will be Skubal and a position player (Suzuki maybe?) this year...

Enjoying all the "know it all" sports writers saying the extra rest will hurt the Brewers.  It's almost like one writer starts and they all have to copy to say they wrote it too..

Historically this much rest isn't good for the bats. Not much can be done about it.

The rest vs rust thing is overblown.

All 4 teams that had byes this year advanced. Three of the four advanced last year; the other was LA.

Any team would want the extra rest, the ability to set the rotation, the opportunity to get rest for an overworked bullpen, the opportunity to heal from little injuries, etc. Not a single GM or manager would turn that down.
