Were they not one of the final four teams last year?  Yes, they need to add pop at the plate for the playoffs.  If they don't pull the trigger it could be costly.  But you're acting like they have no chance which is foolish and a defeatest mindset.

Yes.  Your mindset cannot be we've lost before the game has even been played. That's a terrible state of mind in all endeavors.

The Brewers have great depth and are good at putting pressure on teams with timely hitting (although not lately with RISP) and aggressive baserunning. They have number of good starting pitchers to keep them in games. Also, their defense saves a lot of runs.

However, when you are facing top pitchers and high-leverage relievers, it's a lot easier to score when you have the chance on a single swing of the bat. The tough part for the Brewers in scoring run is it takes stringing some hits together.

The bottom of the order is starting to hit a little, but that was a dead zone in the playoffs. Add that to any of your top guys slumping and it's tough to beat a team like the Dodgers.

I'd still get Skubal before a bat but doubt they do either.  Buxton is the dream.

Suarez, Ward, and Adell are all lottery tickets.  Maybe they hit better after a trade, but right now, eh.

Market will be weird with how bad the AL is.  Angels and Royals look like the only teams dead in the water.  One hit streak for just about anyone else and they're right there.

The Mariners want a RH bat but because, as you said, so many teams still consider themselves alive for the postseason, only scraps are available. And the Mariners and Brewers will have plenty of competition for those scraps.

What could happen more than most years at the deadline is that legit contenders could make deals with each other. Division Leader A has enough starting pitching but needs a bat; Division Leader B has extra hitters but needs an arm. That kind of thing.

Or maybe it'll just be a nothing deadline with only a couple of big names (like Skubal) moving and not much else happening.

Not to mention Churio switching to his non-dominant hand against a position player pitcher to please the baseball gods. Praise be to Yadi.

And Miz gets to pitch on Sunday so no wasting his arm on a meaningless exhibition next week.

You know Yadi would have called for a pitch at his head the next game for disrespecting the unwritten rules.

Dodgers blown out again by AZ.  And Yamamoto got rocked.  Hope the boys in blue can turn this around in their final couple of games before the all star break.

Last year the Phillies get all up in arms when the MLB puts Miz into the All Star Game and not their own guys...only for it to come out that Phillies players got offered spots in the All Star Game and declined them before Miz got invited.

This year Zack Wheeler calls it BS that he doesn't get in the All Star Game, then gets invited and says he was disrespected by not getting the original invite.  Can't wait for the Phillies to b1tch about whoever the MLB chooses as a replacement.

For a team that got tied for the most All Stars of any MLB team at 6, they sure do love to b1tch about who makes the All Star Game.  Especially since they're in the 2nd Wild Card spot in the NL.

I'd speculate that it might be Orion Kerkering, but he'd just throw away the opportunity.

not good, seems like "arm fatigue" for the whole Brewer's pitching staff.

That is the most unlikely story in MLB. Myself and most WS fans would have been very pleased with the progress of a 60 win season.
