Quote from: Pakuni on Today at 11:04:47 AMI'm sure he'll declare victory no matter what happens, but do people actually believe the Iranian regime is going to crumble because its 86-year-old leader was killed?
There's a scenario here where this is the first of many dominoes that, if they fall right, ends the regime. But there are so many plausible outcomes here, not the least of which is that the regime comes out of this more hardened and extreme.

No my point is that if he sees that it will go bad or popular opinion is massively against this, that he will just declare victory and depart regardless of the dominoes remaining.

I agree with your point. Just adding to it that killing Khamenei, who no one should mourn or miss, might not be a victory in and of itself.

I'll take this a different way. Assassinating him was moronic. He was not an effective leader, or a threat. He was though a religious icon, for many Shia's similar to the Pope.

Killing him made him a martyr and will lead to someone younger, likely more radical, and a more effective leader in control.

And destroying all their military infrastructure will just lead them to tie themselves to China's military complex even tighter, wouldn't be surprised when the dust settles for China and Iran to make some military agreements that will give Iran more offensive fire power within the next 5 years.

This is all about a weak man pretending to be strong, to cover up bad press, and in so doing playing with the lives of young Americans.

If the goal is to keep America strong, and it isn't with this prez because grifting is all that really matters, he would not have cut U.S. aid driving both African and South American countries to create deeper ties to China. And as you said, the same will happen here.

But distraction is everything when you having a misinformed populace. Epstein, Epstein, Epstein.

That's a way too simplistic way to look at this.

Normally I would agree with this, but are we sure that applies here? The US President also happens to be the dumbest bitch on the planet, and doesn't consistently price in any advice or intel. I'm not sure there is any reason to believe 4-D chess is being played.

Why does Barron hate America? Or is he just a coward like his pedo-daddy?

War isn't political.  We must defend ourselves from the tyrants that attacked us!

Huh? I'm referring to mu82's "Capt. Bone Spur's tiny hands" comment.

It's ridiculous.

But go cheer on the immigrant killer in Austin who hated America like so many of you do. Sickening.

The rhetoric of "people" like mu82 and so many others is why so much of this happens, and it's shameful.

Lenten prayers to you all.

Citizen, murderer with mental health issues. Experts in Austin say people need to not jump to conclusions about a man who has a lengthy history of mental health issues.

Apparently you didn't get that memo.

But one can be both upset about the murderer in the US, but also upset about what is going on in this country right now, and the world. They aren't mutually exclusive.
