How was your tournament? How many Trulys?

Tough. Lots of familiar faces and fun, but was drawn to the big screen a lot to watch my Vikings win. 10 teams, MLP format. Top 8 in pool play go to bracket. We went to the bracket as the 2 seed. Lost to the 7 seed, who wound up winning the whole thing. Crap.

Gotta try to figure out ESPN Select today, but first: 9am 4.0+ open play. LFG!

We - as in the collective UA fan base. basically an entirely new roster and very little hype over this season beyond that they are bigger and more athletic than we have had in a long time, if ever, and that there are a few potential starters fighting through injuries. That's really all we know.

Amir Lindsey is a preconference all conference team player, but he is just a soph and frankly I think that's a lot of pressure for a kid that only played a bit last season. the rest of the team is made up of transfers. So, no idea and even local press doesn't seem to know. There are a bunch we are excited to see though.

It's a holiday today: opening day of CBB always feels like Christmas.

Where is the fanbase on Killings? Last year felt like a good building year, then all the building blocks other than Lindsey left. I know it's hard to reach the heights Will Brown had Albany at, but does it feel further away than when he left? I've always hoped for the best for DK & Danny Mads.

Fanbase is pretty split on DK. Unceremonious departure of Brown after a 20 year stretch with 5 NCAA tourney appearances to DK starting with a handful of terrible seasons soured many fans views. Add in the controversy with LF and you have a recipe for a chunk of the fanbase that wants him gone. Many of us knew it would be a few years before he figured it out and wanted to give him time, but patience is definitely wearing thin. he needs a strong year this year or the fanbase will probably revolt (the ones that remain anyway).

These last few years of sub mediocre records have left interest in the program at all-time lows, so I'm guessing the average fan doesn't even know who Danny Mads is. People have short memories though and a run in the AE this year and at minimum reaching the conference finals would go a long way to building confidence. Less than that and I doubt he gets a new contract.

Unable to get ESPN Plus. Says there is an "unexpected error." Been trying for a while. Knew I'd hate not being on FS1 regularly.

Forced to the radio feed. I could never stand Homer...first 3 minutes and I almost can't even listen. Shocks me that some people like his calls. I like Tony Smith, but he commented that the student section being on both ends "must be new." Homer said there were no lineup surprises.

11 players played double digit minutes.  Clark had 9.  Phillips is the only scholarship player to not score.  Good for an opening night cupcake.
