Very favorable conference schedule for MUScoop's Badgers this year. Over on the 5.5 win total seems like a safe bet. Some nice tuneups against the likes of Eastern Michigan and the Leathernecks of Western Illinois to get ready for the Big Ten season. 

But in all seriousness godspeed to Colton Jospeh and those RBs playing behind that OL this year. WOOF. Trying to revert back to the old school ground game of the past, while smart, probably won't have the returns badger fans will appreciate until they start recruiting OL talent like they used to. Not even in the same stratosphere.

I was impressed with the Fickell hire. I am shocked how bad he has been. I think UW has the resources to be a upper middle class B10 program.

I'm not sure about that.  They haven't recently.  They stated they would invest more heading into this year, but we'll see how that goes.  They aren't remotely close to the likes of Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Michigan, Penn State, or Nebraska.  I'd guess Iowa, Washington, Illinois, UCLA, and possibly even Northwestern can spend quite a bit more.

History: the Browns are waiving tight end Dae'Quan Wright and, if he clears waivers, he has an agreement in place for the 2026 season to play for LSU, per agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln. 
Wright is believed to be the first player who could play for an NFL team, and then go back to play in college.

The players and many others wanted them to be treated like the professionals they are, so here is the process. It works in the other pro sports and for teachers, dock workers, truck drivers, etc.. The schools and players have a proven roadmap to managing this.

When players have tried unionizing in college, how has the reaction been from the schools?

Oh, now the answer is a union and CBA.
If only there were a collective of very smart people who hadn't vehemently opposed just that for more than a decade.

It is, of course, the answer. But in the meantime, the administrators and university presidents who opposed it deserve every bad thing that's happening to them right now.

The players would merely be back to where things were just 3-4 years ago. Empty stadiums and no TV contracts would be catastrophic for the powers-that-be.

I'll believe collective bargaining when I see it.  Until then, the NCAA will continue to grope its way through the modern age like a blind man at an orgy

My post was to simply state the (to me) obvious answer. I was not trying to relitigate the situation or assign blame. (I agree the school presidents are to blame). The presidents or NLRB or courts need to let the players unionize.

Personally, I don't care if they let the current situation continue. Pro athletes can compete wherever they want/get paid the best.

The SEC, who has been paying players for decades and the impetus for many NCAA crazy rules on eligibility, now says "College athletes, not former professional athletes, have been at the heart of the Southeastern Conference.". LOL! Every single SEC player is officially a professional athlete.
