Before the season started 53% of scoopers thought we would end up with a 6-9 seed and would be a fringe Top 25 team.  Another 14.2% thought we would do worse than that.

At last check we are looking to be a 6-9 seed and a fringe Top 25 team.

This team met or exceeded the expectations of 67.2% of scoopers.

It is good to know that scoopers took such a pragmatic view of the team.   Thank you for that.

I thought a 5 to 7 seed would be a good achievement for this team. In fact, those are pretty much always my expectations. Being 20-28 on the S Curve. Once every 4 years or so we can compete for a top seed and once in a while we will be on the bubble. That's reasonable I think.

How it gets to the 7 seed though can be a roller coaster. Naturally envision us playing like the #25 team all year. Not playing like a top 10 team for several weeks, then a sub 50 team for several weeks, then maybe finally playing like the #25 team at the end of the year right where we should be.

Just happy to have another bite at the apple in 10 days.

Preseason, those were fair expectations maybe even lofty after losing TK and Oso.
After MUBB performance in the non-con I raised my personal expectations and have been therefore disappointed. I suppose the team is also disappointed with the recent downward trajectory considering the success they had in November and December.

That said, I've adjusted my expectations and am' hoping for 2 more wins in the month of March.

I'm at the same place. I'm always an optimist with MU basketball (but brood when we lose.) Our nonconf was so good. Only two losses to (at that point) really good teams on their court. I was seeing 1 seed!  (To which brew77 said "fair weather indeed").

So we adjust our expectations and I think it's best to hope the best. Can we somehow win the BET...yes, unlikely but yes. Can we make the S16, sure, I think we're a couple of good matchups away (really hope we keep a 6 seed).

Good team, good kids, good coach. Nice.
