I hope it works out for him. I have no faith in him as a starting QB, but he seems like a hard working nice guy.

Chiefs already signed their starting RB.  Seems like a weird move to trade for another one.

CreightonWarrior

Based on the weapons he's being given, if Malik Willis has any success in Miami then the Packers really did keep the wrong QB.

Who would have guessed that giving a huge guaranteed contract to the guy that wouldn't watch film would turn out poorly?

Jaxon Smith-Njigba just became the highest-paid WR ever after signing a 4 year, $168.6M extension with the Seahawks. About $120M is guaranteed. It's also the biggest contract in Seahawks history.

He still has two years left on his rookie contract, but will receive more those years, too, in the form of prorated bonuses. He would be paid nearly $50M in each of 2030 and 2031, though those contracts could be renegotiated ... or he even could be cut.

Ugh.  I suppose the Seattle sports media will probably talk about this like he's any good.

Not only that ... they'll claim the Seahawks won the Super Bowl last month. What homers!

Pretty reasonable creep up from Chase's deal last year too.  $168MM vs $161MM.  $42MM AAV vs $40.25MM.  $120MM guaranteed vs $112MM guaranteed.  Both from young recievers coming off their initial 1st Team All Pro seasons.  Huge contracts to be sure, obviously.  But pretty reasonable, in-line all things considered, after a pretty big jump from 2024 when Jefferson signed his big extension to Chase last year.

Florida government focused on the important things. The funny (?) thing is this guy apparently has no idea how the Rooney Rule works.

The NFL's annual league meeting will begin Sunday, and Florida attorney general James Uthmeier has one demand for the league: That it suspend the Rooney Rule.

In a video Wednesday, Uthmeier called for the rule to be suspended, saying it violates Florida law by "requiring race-based considerations in hiring." Uthmeier threatened "enforcement actions against the league for race-based discrimination."

Stupid beaurocrates/politicians aside, I think the Rooney Rule is already on life support.

To tens of millions of Americans, the only real racism is "reverse racism."

Black people and other minorities get everything handed to them. White folks, meanwhile, haven't been able to catch a break for 400+ years.

You don't seem to get much enjoyment out of things, so I'm glad the Times can brighten your day.

Fernando Mendoza, Kirk Cousins and Aidan O'Connell are going to make up the nerdiest QB room ever.

Smart to sign Cousins. Great injury insurance, and he'll probably help Mendoza's development.
