Quote from: MuggsyB on October 26, 2025, 05:42:40 PMTheir time management was absolutely atrocious.  Same problem in the 1st half.
I'm really not the guy who nit picks games that are already decided, like today. But today the level of ineptness rose to the level of appearing intentional.

The Bears could have run out the clock to avoid injury, and that would have been valid. What played out looked suspicious or epically dumb.

I will rule out game fixing, but the alternative is very concerning as a Bears fan. I may have praised Johnson too much, too soon, because some day executing competently at the end of a game will matter.

I'm not convinced Caleb is "him," but he's got until his 2nd season under Ben to show it to me.

Daniels > Caleb

Maye > Caleb

Nix > Caleb

Poles never brought any of them in.

Poor Leadership at the top is the problem.

Ya....I'm no expert but I have no idea what the F he was doing. Very concerning.

Williams has a better QBR than Daniels this year. Nix and Rattler have nearly identical QBRs.

Being one of the best Bears QB's, and the best since Cutler, doesn't really tell you a whole lot.  We're talking about an organization with the worst collective quarterbacks in history.  The fact that Cutler is one of the better ones is a problem in itself.

Diminutive is the wrong adjective.  "Diminutive eyesight having citizens" is an absolute disaster as a sentence or phrase.

Ah yes the old "objective stats don't matter, I prefer the eye test of myself, a casual fan, who has beats the same tropes to death across various sports"

Williams didn't play great today, but 2 weeks ago, Nix was very pedestrian against the Jets and, even in a great comeback last week against the Giants, he was alright but not great.

Nix played a horrible defense today and was 19/29  for 247 and 4 TDs.  Williams played that same terrible Cowboys defense and absolutely shredded them for even more yards.

Williams is level with Nix in basically every statistical measure (even after back to back disappointing performances), has a better QBR and isn't also in his second year with a SB winning HC like Nix, while also having an All-Pro, 1000 yard rusher like Dobbins.  But sure, "not even close".

Run up the middle with a WR for 1. Swing pass with no blocking for -1. Shot into double coverage. 57 yard FG attempt with a kicker coming off a quad injury. Excellent stuff MLF.

On top of that, a flag on the opening kick return, a muffed punt (recovered by the Packers at least), and a missed FG and we're not even to half.

They'll talk about how important these things are and the results will continue to be the same.

You lose on the facts. The correct response is, Williams went against a terrible defense today and failed.

So far, Williams has been a decent QB. Nothing more. Unless he gets better or the Bears develops a historic defense, this will not result in anything of note.

It's the eternal problem with his play calling. One series looks fantastic. The next he digs too deep in the playbook and gets too cute.

Seriously stick with running Jacobs up the middle and work from there.

The Bears were never gonna be a great team this year, unless something crazy happened with a couple huge leaps.  Too many holes.  Johnson has turned them into a competent team, more consistent, but they are still light on talent in key areas and ravaged by injuries defensively.

Williams has improved greatly since last season.  Doesn't mean he's a Pro Bowler, but he's not some flashing bust.  Much better pocket presence, timer back there is better, making some amazing throws.  Still has accuracy issues and hasn't put together back to back complete games, but the minute he doesn't play great, people immediately can't wait to revert back to his low points last season and pretend like he's been nothing but awful all year.

Outside of Maye, all the second year guys have been up and down this year.  Daniels hasn't been healthy, but even when he's played, he's taken a step back.  People acting like Williams is putting the Bears in the same position at QB as Fields and Mitch are giving themselves away.

Bo Nix is 2-10 against teams .500 and above.
He's elite at beating bad teams.

Defense keeping the Steelers out of the end zone.   What was the line about the Bears and field goals not being the objective?

Cannot believe they thought that Nixon was a quality corner.

MLF uses timeouts and goes for points to end the first half while the Pack had a lead in Dallas and they turn it over and turn it into a deficit. Now MLF just going to sit on 2 timeouts trailing going into half while kicking to open the second half.
