Zog from Margo

The better team won. Stevie and Gold really struggled. Lowery and Parham need more of their minutes.

CountryRoads

Quote from: MuggsyB on February 08, 2025, 03:13:36 PMI thought Neal traveled but Stevie not having any confidence in his shot hurt us today.  They made 3 triples to close.  Tip your cap.

Lot of hat tipping lately.

MuggsyB

The back to back threes after we forced them to take a time-out there's literally nothing we could have done.

The Sultan

Quote from: PGsHeroes32 on February 08, 2025, 03:12:53 PMWhat a pathetic ending

Just zero mental toughness or clutch on this team.

Its gross

I thought they showed a lot of toughness coming back. Creighton just hit shots.

Way tougher than the snowflakes in the game thread.

Guarding kalkbrenner at all might have been something we could have done to prevent that three.

El Chokeo down the stretch. We do not have the horses. These last few games prove it. Giddyup on blown opportunities. Giddyup on recruiting Shaka.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

MUEng92

Two games this season that Stevie has taken more than 4 three point shots.

Jan. 3 against Creighton, 2 of 9 and today against Creighton 2 of 10.  I think McDermott knows something

Were about to reverse time to the good old Derrick days.

MuggsyB

We can't have the shooting percentages we have seen recently, and the lack of offensive consistency, if we're gonna beat good teams on the road.  And Stevie had a good start.  The bottom line is we're not hitting quality looks and lose poise at critical times.

Bench Gold. Jop was 8 for 22. Not impressive. Shaka getting his ass out coached down the stretch. Not looking good as crunch time is here. On to next year.

No they showed effort they always do. But they fold when it matters.

Coming back down 19 at home and losing by 2. Or down 11 on the road and making zero plays the final 4 minutes.

Does not matter if the are losses.

Especially when its coupled with zero complete games all of conference play besides 1. (prov where I excuse the 2nd half because the 1st half was such a laugher).
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

It's almost like falling behind by double digits and then hoping to charge from behind and pull the game out at the end isn't a good strategy against a decent team.

Use up the energy coming back and then have nothing left at the end.

I always hear about how intense MU's practices are. I wonder if the players are more worn down than they have to be, especially with how little help they get off the bench.

Better pull it together for Tuesday for what is truly a must win game.

You're a snowflake on a message board.

I'll ride with them any day.

We're a bad team right now. We clearly masked lack of talent at the beginning of the year because of continuity. I didn't see Stevie turning into a net negative though.

Not looking good lately for sure. But move on to next year after the season. Not at this point in conference play. MU is still 18-6.

If you're not gonna get much from Ben, I'd almost go small. Make the other team try to matchup with us. Make their lives hell on the perimeter.

Kam-Stevie-Chase-Zaide-Joplin

Don't know how long it'd be effective but it might be worth a shot.

Ben Gold? More like Ben Dover.
I'm honestly starting to think Shaka has him out there for the other team to rip apart. I've seen 6th graders with more court awareness. 3 games, zero impact. Guy's out there shooting like he's auditioning for the role of "Missed Shot of the Year." I swear if he biffs another ball off the side of the rim at crunch time, I'll personally buy him a one-way ticket to the bench for the rest of the season.
We're all just waiting for him to do something, ANYTHING, and yet we get this? His confidence is so low, it's practically underground. The only thing slower than his shot release is the way he's running back on defense. You could hear a turtle scream at him to hustle, and he'd still be outpaced.
How about we try something revolutionary—maybe just don't play him? Seriously, at this point, he's a liability on both sides of the court. If he's gonna keep shooting us out of games, maybe he should just start shooting from the locker room, because he's certainly not helping us from the field.
Somebody tell me—when did Ben Gold become the human turnover? Watching him is like waiting for the inevitable crash and burn, except it happens every single game. At least he's consistent.
Shaka, do us all a favor and let the man have a seat. He's making us all look like amateurs out here.

C'mon.  Creating an account to complain about a player is next level.

And has lost 3 straight with piss poor play from several of the most experienced players on the team. We start all seniors and juniors and keep caving down the stretch and/or making boneheaded plays. This time of the season we should be progressing not regressing.
