We've seen Stevie Mitchell just work his arse off defensively for 4 seasons.

This guy has embodied everything a true warrior is, night in night out, and turned into one of the best defensive players in Marquette history.

He's been a 4.0 student, the perfect student athlete, and yet he's never reached for offensive accolades.

Can't be more proud of Stevie Mitchell and his career high 22 points tonight.
That kid deserves all the praise.

Here's the thing too- at halftime of this game I sat there thinking to myself "man this team feels off, they need a jolt, I just don't know where it's coming from, but they need something..."

This years team needs a more aggressive offensive Stevie Mitchell.
BRING IT ON STEWIE!!

BRING IT ON STEWIE!!

He's got some real offensive skills. Slightly undersized with a shot that has come a long way, but he is really quick to get by defenders and shields them really well with his backside when he gets by them. Textbook basketball. Just a winner.
VIOLENCE!

WellsstreetWanderer

I liked how he chests up on defenders at the hoop to clear space. He seems to improve all around every game

We don't lose when Stevie has a strong offensive game.

MUEng92

Stevie is a great defender even when he's off on offense.  When he's on on offense his defense seems to some how get better.   To the point like tonight where he was seemingly everywhere the ball was on both ends of the court for 3-4 consecutive possessions

Dudes a stud. Will go down as a legend when he's gone. Should never have to buy another beer in MKE.

GB Warrior

Stevie at least once attacked a 1 on 3 fast break and came out ahead

Yep. There was a point in the game where it just seemed like it was Stevie Mitchell and everyone else out there, and he owned the entire scene on both ends.

It was a stretch that was pivotal to the result too, which makes it more impressive.

I let out a nice soccer style chant that my wife really enjoyed when it happened

HES HERE, HES THERE, HES EVERY FOOKING WHERE STEVIE MITCHELL, STEVIE MITCHELL

Helped and Voted for him many times for Pennsylvania State player of the year which Stevie Won
But also googled this
Named Mr. PA Basketball by sportsrecruiters.com in 2020-21 ... Two-time Berks Player of the Year, who led the league in scoring final two seasons and helped Wilson High School to back-to-back titles ... Concluded career with 2,060 points, fourth most in league history ...
Awesome game tonight Stevie.

Just an outstanding player and human being. I've said it a couple times, but man is he going to be missed.

I called that when he was still at half court! You could just feel it.

He will not be missed by my son Travis, who finally after two years got used to me calling him Tyler, now is getting sick of me calling him Stevie.  :D  ;D

Stevie Mitchell is a fantastic role model for the younger players. He will be greatly missed next year.

I know Steve isn't into individual accomplishments but if he stays healthy and plays in the minimum amount of games Marquette should have left (12) he needs to average 9.25 PPG the rest of the way to hit 1,000 career points.

Would be a cool milestone to hit for a guy that brings so much more value aside from putting the ball in the basket.

Put me on Team Stevie, all the way, but for a moment there I thought this was going to become like the legendary Trevor Mbakwe thread.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

COLE! Anything less than 15 would be tough to accept. We're talkin under 6.5/gm I think. Maybe have Kam rack up early fouls and we'll be good

Stevie was a true leader out there.
One thing that had me perplexed was with Ben Gold and Stevie.
It would be after a missed shot and Ben was able to get a single hand on the ball coming off the rim but not be able to grab it with two.  It seemed like every time Ben would slap the ball out, Stevie was there to grab it.
