Quote from: tower912 on January 28, 2025, 11:07:37 PMDo not recognize the game I was at from the game thread.   I have to believe at this point that it is all satire, sarcasm, and irony.   Thank you all for the laughs.

I assume that this post is satire and sarcasm.

Otherwise, congratulations on being so calm, cool, and collected that you never think or say anything spontaneously in the heat of the moment while watching a game.

I don't participate much in the game threads, but when I look through them I don't see that many comments that are not valid when made contemporaneously as long as you recognize them as spur of the moment and often emotional reactions.

Maybe you're referring to comments made by the several posters that I have on ignore because virtually everything they post is sarcastic or a lame attempt at humor.

Thanks.  And I say plenty of spontaneous things in the heat of the moment.  Just rarely negative.  My conversation with my buddy in the moment at the game was along the lines of Butler won't keep hitting shots like this all game and watching how Matta used Screen only against the back up bigs.  And laughter and friendly banter with our Butler neighbors.   Accurately predicted to them that MU would ramp up the defensive intensity in the second half.  Never said a derogatory word about either team.

"The offense looked so much more smooth with Kam on the bench. The ball sticks in Kams hands sometimes, and I'm not complaining cause he's the best, but tonight the flow was better when everyone was involved."

"Butler scored 27 points in the second half.  It was 51-50 when Kam picked up his 4th.  27-19 after that.  Marquette equaled Butler's second half total in closing it out."

That means Marquette out scored Butler 16-8 before Kam went out.  Looks like Marquette was more efficient with Kam playing!  Who'd a thunk!

Hey, now.  Be careful about criticizing people's off the cuff remarks.  You never know when using your free speech to disagree with another's free speech will be criticized.  Gird your loins.

So, teams broken.

Tre's transferring.

PG's whining.

MU winning.

Game thread embarrassing.

Business as usual.

MUs +/- was 0 with Kam on the floor last night

MUs +/- was +9 without Kam on YNt for last night

So last night MU was more efficient without Kam playing.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Do that comparison in the 2nd half only.   After MU changed their strategy.

Yep in the second half the teams plus/minus was better with Kam. In the whole game it was better without.  Which is a great development given the concerns about the bench!

I have a feeling every MU player's +/- would be significantly better in the 2nd half.
But I agree about the great development!   Great to see. " Maybe the sky is not falling next year"

If there was a fight at the Butler game like the one in St. Louis, Tower and MU82 probably would have been the ones who started it.

It's all in the university's plan to be more like StLU.
