I am posting this from my desktop computer, not my cell phone or mobile like they say in the UK. There is a thread in the Al (What's going on with sport coverage) where the OP made so many typos it was pretty hard to comprehend. I may be wrong but it was most likely sent from his/her phone. I am a terrible texter. For some reason I routinely hit the letter to the right of the one I want using my index finger, forget using my thumbs. I am amazed how fast young people can text using their thumbs. My grand daughter always teases me saying it's easy.

Quite a few here text from their phones so most here are pretty good at texting, but please not while your driving.

Thanks for the PSA?  There is certainly some general correlation between age and proficiency with mobile keyboards.  Below may (or may not) be interesting.  MUScoop access statistics from the past 3 years.  I assume "other" is vax/vms ;D

It's pretty easy for young people when their language consists of acronyms and emojis.

And yes, please don't text when driving. It's been shown to slow down reflexes more than driving drunk. I'm continuously amazed at the number of people who I not only see texting while driving but also FaceTiming.

I think its a learned proficiency at a younger age sort of thing.

I remember talking to an older work colleague at an event and I got a text on my iPhone, I looked at it, and punched a quick reply while looking at him and engaging the conversation.  He was dumbfounded that I could "no look text".  But I mean, it wasn't like Matt Damon T9 texting in his pocket in The Departed.  It was basically how most older people can type without single finger pecking on a traditional keyboard.
