I miss the days where we had non conference schedules of Houston Christian, Chicago State, Milwaukee, Texas Southern, Northern Iowa, Dayton, Central Michigan, Wisconsin, Purdue Fort Wayne, Tennessee, Western Carolina, at NC State, Presbyterian.

The idea that Shaka and this administration doesn't know how to schedule is wild.  The non-con schedules since Shaka has arrived have been awesome.  I'll gladly give up playing playing a home game against Purdue Fort Wayne in a half empty arena on 12/13 to play at Dayton 12/14.

Put Marathon Oil back on the schedule, you cowards.

Shocked that Gottleib's not getting it done.

Quote from: brewcity77 on January 27, 2025, 08:11:48 AMMaybe now that we're willing to give up home games to mid majors we'll see them back on the schedule, but I'd be surprised.

This is an embarrasing take.

Playing at Dayton affords the team to play in one of the best environments in college basketball.  It will probably be one of the top 5 road games we play all year.

If you don't see the value in that you're not a real college basket-ball knower.

That's weird.  I typed from my phone and it's still showing I'm in the Continental Europe time zone.  I posted from home in CT and have been home since Sunday afternoon.

Because the original ask wasn't about them:

Quote from: GoldenEagles03 on January 27, 2025, 07:51:09 AMRandom non-con question...didn't know where to put it.

UW-Milwaukee is almost inside the Top 100 in the NET with some sustained success/good basketball for the past few years. They are a Q2 game on the road. Has that ship sailed? Any chance we start scheduling them in the non-con? Has the recent avoidance been related strictly to lack of résumé benefit?

But Green Bay is as irrelevant as Milwaukee and Dayton should be. We shouldn't be playing any of them other than as buy games. If they don't want to come as a buy game, fine. Don't play them.

Quote from: brewcity77 on January 23, 2025, 08:19:07 AMThere have only been four instances of 9+ bids from a single league before, but this year's realignment has the SEC, Big 10, and Big 12 all reaching that with 30 combined bids. That only makes the Selection Committee's job harder. Today we break down why:

Cracketology: Bracketing the Megaconferences

Purdue seems safely in the Q1 category, so is there any merit to rooting against them tonight vs. Indiana? Have seen Purdue ahead of us in like 50% of brackets but taking a 6th loss to our 3 seems like it's surely give us an edge.

I have Marquette and Purdue right next to each other. Obviously moot now, but them and Michigan State losing is generally good for us, though we want Purdue to stay top-15 in NET for Q1A purposes.
