willie warrior

Quote from: Jockey on January 08, 2025, 10:50:50 AMBack to the subject at hand - I'll go to war with Jop eight days a week.
That might be, just dont give him the ball and ask him to dribble through the enemy.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I doubt Sun Tzu thinks that's good strategy.

We R Final Four

Quote from: tower912 on January 08, 2025, 01:37:49 PMThe team has a week to help Caedin and Parham along.

That should do it.....

We R Final Four

Quote from: tower912 on January 08, 2025, 04:55:29 PMHopefully doesn't hurt.
The only thing a week of no games is doing for those two is getting Royce's ankle healthy. He is a freshman and I am thrilled what we have seen.
A week of practice isnt going to change Caedin's trajectory this season. But I gotta admire the optimism.

Quote from: wadesworld on January 08, 2025, 02:02:39 PMWe're better with Ben on the court than Caedin.  Ben's a very good college player.

Caedin's playing time has dipped because we're no longer playing Stony Brook, George Mason, Western Carolina, etc.  He's played double digit minutes against 1 high major this year, and it was the first game against a high major.  He's a big body who can give us some fouls when our other 2 bigs get into foul trouble.
Ben is very good. Naw. He's serviceable. He does nothing 'very good'. It's disrespectful to a very good college player such as a Chase Ross or Stevie Mitchell to say Gold is very good. Ben better than Caedin? Sure. Absolutely. But very good would imply all-conference. BG ain't all-conference. In fact, he's the weak link in the starting 5. Again, serviceable. Not 'very good'.
Better dead, than RED

For me, the week off gives the young guys to really drill down on defensive rotations.  To practice the offense where you cannot shoot until you have reversed the ball and gone through several actions.

In my head, the goal is to get the bench to be able to mix in with the starters and not have a drop off.  Like Tre did last night or Zaide vs. Creighton

...this, we agree! 100%

Neither Stevie nor Chase will make an All Conference team. So guess they aren't "very good" either.

RED is full of very good players, though.

sarcasm aside, Stevie might. No player better on D, imo

I hope he does because he deserves it, but these teams are usually based on the offensive side of the ball.
