actually the term Global Warming I believe is misleading, because the fact is the earth won't warm, in fact one of its main problems is the freezing of England and other coastal European countries, from breaking off the gulf stream in the Atlantic with cold ice cap water that has melted and flown down the Atlantic.

I thought I had recently heard that the other planets in the solar system have also been experiencing a warming trend, similar to the one we're having. I wonder if we're responsible for that too....  ::)

I'm still trying to figure out how the glaciers melted. I'm not sure, but I don't think the SUV was invented yet.

no but cows were.. or at least their ancestors were...
livestock in general produce about 80 million metric tons of methane per year.. and methane is around 21 times more effective than carbon dioxide at trapping heat in the atmosphere. ;)

If anyone cares, that thing just reminded me that I just bought a book for my daughter called The Sky is Not Falling. It is written for 8-13 year olds, and presents the counter argument to that which they seem to be receiving everywhere else. I haven't really read it yet, but it does point out things like the inconvenient truth that the earth is billions of years old, and changing constantly, and man's time here is but a blip. You know, pesky little details like that. A couple hundred years of statistical data is really powerful stuff, relative to the fact that where the Rocky Mountains now stand, used to be ocean - twice! Yet, some people have the audacity to claim that they know what the normal temperature for the earth should be, and man is causing that temperature to fluctuate. Seems reasonable.
