interesting lineup during last night's game
« on: February 26, 2008, 10:25:47 AM »
Okay, TiVo folks, help me out here. I recall seeing during the middle of the second half (maybe around the 11:00 min mark?) a lineup of Acker, Cubillan, Matthews, Fitz and Mbakwe. This when the game was tight, with just a one or two point lead. I noted that it was somewhat "courageous" of Crean to go with that group, given the relative importance within the game, and with the game's relative importance on the season. The guys seemed to hold their own, giving the others a break. I think it turned out to be a pretty critical moment, as we are deeper than 'Nova and when our leaders came back in we began to exert ourselves and pull away. Is my memory correct?

If so, congrats to that group and to Crean for making it happen.

I recall we had a 6 point lead when that lineup was inserted; the lead dwindled to 3, then 1, then back to 3 before he changed the lineup again.  I couldn't understand why he made the change at that point as we had just gotten some MO and were playing great- totally changed the chemistry and momentum.
