Juan Anderson's Mixtape

I mean it's gotta be Kam.  He scored or assisted on 17 of our 27 FG (63%) and also grabbed 13 of our 31 rebounds (42%).  This is the kind of performance to get him right in the thick of it for NPOY.

But my goodness, Stevie deserves mention for the best game of his career.  Career high 21 points, 4 steals, 0 turnovers, and a defensive pest vs Braden Smith all night.

Quote from: MUEng92 on November 19, 2024, 10:09:20 PMChase, definitely, Stevie, maybe, Kam, I feel silly arguing against a triple double

I think you are right on the maybe for Stevie.  After giving this some thought (and looking through a game log), the 17 point 6 steal game vs. X in Feb 2023 (the Omax tip-in game) might top it.  He forced Souley Boum into 7 turns that night.

If Stevie misses his last shot would he be STOG?

Would probably be Stevie in that case.

So, Stevie helped his podcast mate make Marquette history and likely win the SoG award, what a guy.

Seems like the perfect time for the co-winner crowd

Kenpom had Stevie as MVP, so obviously it's him.

J/K it's Kam.

I liked how Benetti and Raftery spent the last 3-4 minutes of the game rooting for Kam to get the triple-double.

This exchange got me after a Kam layup...

Raf: "He's master of his domain."
Benetti: "It's real and it's spectacular."

Jason and Raft together are great.
Fearless and cheerful because it is so much fun.

Quote from: Nukem2 on November 19, 2024, 10:12:20 PMKam obviously, but huge input from Chase and Stevie!
Chase and Stevie each with 5 steals.  That is huge.
But a triple double is historic. Kam.

tower912

0 assists for Stevie.  Gotta be Kam.
Fearless and cheerful because it is so much fun.

Spotcheck Billy

If he didn't pull a triple double my vote would be Chase but give it up to Kam.

Quote from: forgetful on November 19, 2024, 10:03:43 PMIt's crazy to say that an MU player would get a triple double and not be SOTG, but it is hard to not say Stevie.

He had an insane game.

Kam and Chase also very deserving.

agreed. The job he did defensively on Smith was masterful.

Consistent with my post/vote up-thread, I have to admit that once they started talking about it one of my thoughts was, "Stevie really deserves SOTG, but if Kam gets that triple double, it'll have to be him."

Ross - played amazing D.  4 steals,  5 boards.  Impactful play...
but:
Stevie - leading scorer, also 4 steals, impactful defense and hit key free throws at the end...
but:
Kam - one of the most masterful displays of team and individual play we've had the pleasure of watching in a long time.

I will go with Matt Painter's pick...Kam
