Strange schedule by the conference.

Mostly Tuesday games.
Three Friday games.
Two Saturday home games after January 1

Lots of potential Quality Wins on that schedule. MU should be battled tested and ready for a deep march run.

I hope Sean Jones is back by conference season.  Sounds like he may miss the entire year though which would be tough.  Love his energy.

I'd rather have him miss the entire season than come back and not be in a position where he can contribute because we can't give him an extended run to work the rust off because we're not up 15+ on a cupcake and then burn a year of eligibility.
I'll stick with my opinion on Gold.  He'll be in foul trouble within the first eight minutes.

Agree.

I am interested in any informed opinions regarding players' performance after coming back from an ACL injury. Chances that they will be as good or almost as good as before the injury? Of course, uninformed opinions are also welcome, as this is a long-standing Scoop tradition.  :)

I'm hoping that his judgement on the court will be better. I absolutely loved watching him play, but sometimes he made poor decisions. I can see him really stepping up when he returns.

Players can be just as good after an ACL-see Zach Levine

NMD?
1. Sat 1/18 X ……too early?
2. 1/24 Nova is a Friday. Hope its not on a Friday.
3. Sat 2/1 UConn…..sellout on its own, no reason to double dip.
4. Wont be on a Tuesday in February…..
5. Sat 3/8 is Al’s Day and Senior Day.

Im thinking 1/18.

I think 2/1 is most likely.  I think there will be plenty of sellouts this season so they won't worry about using NMD to add a sellout

As long as they don't do something silly like putting UConn on Peacock, NMD will be February 1st. NMD hasn't been a January game since 2011. The Bucks are off 2/1, so Marquette has Fiserv to themselves (unlike 3/8, the Bucks play at 7:00).

Networks and time slots should come out next week and we'll know for sure, but February 1st is the best choice.

I thought the Peacock thing didn't start until the 2025-26 season?

Peacock will launch its coverage of BIG EAST men’s basketball in 2024-25 with a package of 25 regular season games and five early round and quarterfinal conference tournament games. Beginning with the 2025-26 season, Peacock and NBC Sports will present more than 60 men’s and women’s regular season and BIG EAST Tournament games.

I worry about how effective Sean will be.  Otherworldly quickness is 75% of his game.  If that is diminished, not sure what kind of player he will be.

Thanks for the clarification, Mr. N. Glad I just renewed Peacock for a year with the freebie deal I got from Golfpass!

I asked about NMD yesterday and was told Peacock is a factor in the decision. I'm confident UConn at Marquette won't go to Peacock, but they're going to wait to announce until they are certain of the coverage.
