I love having another PG in the fold.   Welcome, young Mr. James.

Shaka only wants what's best for him.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Welcome to a Marquette Nigel!!

MuggsyB

The young man has explosiveness with a great 1st step.

The font on X made me read shifty as something not so nice

Yeah, their TwitterChirp font is like Franklin Gothic. It's hard for me to read even though it's considered to be highly readable.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Love it.  Welcome Mr. James! May you be as good as the last Mr James to run point for us

I assume Shaka is adopting him to save a scholarship.

If young Nigel says he's happy, he must be happy.

MODS, update the Scholarship table.

Nigel fits in as a future great warrior.

GoFastAndWin

From his highlight videos, phenomenal first step and finisher in traffic, great defender, and superb athlete. My only question is, at his height can he get his 3-point shot off in the BigEast with his current form? For some reason, he doesn't like to elevate on his jumper, despite having serious hops.

Shooting coach, Nevada Smith, will take care of it, curious if he has helped Gold on putting some arch on his shot, line drive shot much like Tyler as a freshman

The Sultan

I don't think Nevada Smith is the shooting coach. I think he just runs the offense.

But regardless, I doubt coaches care much about shooting form when looking at a high school player. That can be fixed.

I'd like to see Gold's shot get flatter.  He's too tall for a shot with a high arc

Your point is somewhat valid, but I think Shaka's offense is based on getting open 3's rather than contested ones.

But I saw the same thing and watching him brought Dom James to mind. Amazing athlete and driver with a middling jumpshot.

You must be dreaming if you think Golds shot should be flatter, shoots a line shot!

It needs to be flatter.  Tall players shooting high arcing shots lead to more misses and long rebounds that lead to breakouts

Agreed. Looks way too flat to me. And I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.  ;)

I'd like to see Gold's shot actually skip off the floor before going into the hoop.

This is a great point.

Shooter McGavin

Yes.  There needs to be no margin for error when tall people shoot.  That would be unfair to the shorter people.
