We had a F3 touch down in south central New Jersey which eventually petered out over Princeton last summer. I believe it was the first F3 in our state. In fact, tornados are very rare here.

In 2022, a tornado set down on a trailer park in Gaylord, Michigan, that golf mecca.  On the ground for something like 6 miles. That was such a rare, unprecedented event that the county did not have tornado sirens to set off, as there had never been a tornado in that part of Michigan in recorded history.

Some relatives of mine were eating in the Culvers in Gaylord when that Tornado happened . Said it completely caught everyone by surprise.
