Consensus Leadership of an entire Nation is something few will be able to achieve in the modern era with all our various forms of media and instant information.

The days of the Lincoln Douglas Debate are long gone. No honest civil discourse any more from the media has also contributed.

Last time this country had anything close to an honest National Discussion was in Gerald Fords presidency. In Fords press conferences he would respond to reporters with a discussion of both sides view of an issue. Then he would give his view and why that was  his view.

Reagan was a unique character who knew how to control the media. However by 1988, the negative political environment roots had started to take hold . Over the years this negative campaigning has resulted in a very polarized Republic.

My guess is sometime in the next 100 years our Country will split into 4 or 5 Republics .

My conclusion of events, 1 of 2 possibilities:

1. Biden admin finally decided to act after the presidential immunity ruling

Or

2. Trump campaign planned this out

#1 is ridiculous considering everything we know about Biden. But taking your assumption into consideration, I have 2 things come to mind. 1) that they would hire some crazy 20 year old to do the job, and 2) it wouldn't matter since it would be perfectly legal to carry this out.
