Correct - was 2 of 16 in 3s, showing again how well nc state guards the 3 point line - until the last 65 seconds when they hit a couple of meaningless ones (none if which cut it to single digits even).

Were not withing 2 possessions in last 7+ minutes of game. Marqiette was within 2 possessions right up until he last 3 minutes when Kam had the and-one to make it 58-52 and then missed the 3 with a couple of minutes left.

On all counts in that game we had a better showing than Duke - which will be good for the first ever ap poll after the tournament this year. We will be so where between 6th and 11th.

6th may be optimistic, but if so would be the only time in history we were top 6 back to back years except for 1974 and 1975 (obviously last year and all previous years poll was before the tournament, and 1977 we were 7th in final ranking).

Every team but one loses their last game - third time in recent years we've lost to worse seed who then went to final 4 (South Carolina, north Carolina and NC State) so your criteria sounds like you will never be able to get over another Marquette season in your life based on any realistic expectation.
