CryingShaka

Lots of comments on Twitter/X wondering why Shaka was crying when Marquette beat a seed 8 spots below MU.

I have to agree it looked ridiculous.  Watching the coach of Purdue just act businesslike after winning a game they were supposed to win was much more appropriate than Shaka blubbering like they had just beaten Houston to go to the Final Four.

MU is a bleeping 2 seed.  You do not cry after beating a 10 seed, lol.

Anyway, how about those badgers? Can't wait to watch them tonight

First trip to the sweet 16 since 2011.  Redemption after last year.  Genuine love for his team.    I would criticize your take, but I am told that is mean and interferes with you fully embracing your personhood.

With all due respect, you're a heartless jackass.

For whatever reason, it seems that the embarrassing locker room audio clip Tucker released a few years back has been mostly scrubbed of the internet. Anyone care to link it? Would love a good laugh at that rotten culture.

Not sure why I am taking the time to respond but here i go.

Most all of us on this board are diehard fans. It's been a very very very long road to get to where we are now. Shaka has a love for the game and love for his players. I'm not saying you had to get emotional with him but watching the interview if you are a fan of Marquette basketball you could feel what he was expressing, and we all agreed with it.

The fans on this board spend a ton of money on tickets, gear, donations and we finally got back to the 2nd weekend where we haven't been for 11 years. Let us enjoy the day. I would rather have a coach who wears his heart on his sleeve like shocka over a choke artist like Matt Painter any day of the weak.

Big Papi

How bad do badger fans feel after James Madison got destroyed by Duke?  I imagine a lot of badger fans will be crying if Gard is still coaching next year.

Love it.

Who is this?  Seems like a real gem.

The best thing about Shaka's emotions was that he articuled how he didn't want the season to end because he loves his guys so much.  He's not worried about losing, he's thinking about how much he values the time he has with his seniors, and what a loss would have felt like to them.  I'd bet my house the pressure Shaka put on himself was enormous, and it all revolved around wanting to be sure he put his seniors in the best position to win.

I've been to Badger practices and MU practices...I don't need to talk about the Badgers, but the love Shaka has for his guys is real as is the love his guys have for him.  Win or lose...it's special.

The only thing that matters is winning and losing in the tourney.

Gard is going to be fired for too many tourney chokes, and he should be.

If MU had lost today, Shaka should have been fired.
