1-4 in the NIT with 4 home court advantages.  I know Carter didn't play, but still pretty embarrassing.

Johnny B

Nova and providence didn't seem to care at all. Don't know why they even opted in.

Not a good few days.

MUfan12

Honestly the NIT results are irrelevant.

Dr. Blackheart

Top half of conference hasn't lost yet.

Ish.  And one abstained, much like Rico.

Superfan

I watched the Nova game.  They played the game at Nova which was a mistake.  The arena was empty and the players played with zero spirit. The players and fans are obviously highly frustrated and probably should've forgotten playing in this tournament.

TallTitan34

Don't allow P6 teams in the NIT. None of them care.  Make it the tournament for smaller conferences.

rocky_warrior

I'm not buying that excuse.

Right, so that means the players don't care.  Why not sit out?

Rocky,

How long will Neptune last?  Ty.

MuMark

It was great at the top.......mediocre in the middle......and historically bad at the bottom......but we knew this before the NIT.

Mediocre wins more home games against mediocre teams

Should be out now.

I can't believe he'll be back.   Who do they go after?

I actually like this idea. We live in a brave new NIL-portal world but if there are enough P6 teams that plan on having enough retention and want more time for meaningful player development, let them group up and play a mini tournament. If this NIL Vegas tournament model is any indication, they could probably find a sponsor to put up a purse and make it worth the players interest. Play the games Mon-Wed during the tourney when we're all starved for MORE bball. I'd tune in. I'd also be much more interested in a NIT featuring only the smaller guys on a bigger stage

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Suck? Maybe a strong word.

Was extremely top heavy with a bunch of meh in middle? Absolutely

Fair-ish.  Did the the middle of the BE suck, and the bottom two teams not matter at all?

I don't follow coaching changes much.  Though I haven't heard much about Neptune actually being out.  Went to the MU @ Nova game and it's clear their fans are not satisfied.

You are putting way too much emphasis on a small sample at the end of a long season.......PC played without the Big East player of the year and another starter.......Xavier lost by 2 and Butler lost by 1.......

Xavier finished near the bottom of our conference and wouldn't have even been in this event if others had not declined.

They also lost this season to Houston by 6 and at Purdue by 12 .....they aren't good but they certainly aren't bad.

You could also argue they played more like their pre-conference selves.  Which also doesn't say much for the conference.

(Except for Providence, which with Hopkins and Carter could be dangerous)

No there wouldn't be more interest. If people cared about smaller schools making a tournament, the CBI would be killing it. Instead the schools have to play to pay.

Expand the tournament slightly and kill off the NIT.
