Marquette's guys got it done in the title game against the 5 star Providence recruit.

Beautiful play from Owens to Parham here.

Nice pick and roll action.

UConn has precisely one freshman contributing this season, Stephon Castle, a 5-star kid who is rated pretty high on NBA mock drafts. He's been good but hardly Carmelo Anthony (or even Henry Ellenson) good.

It would be nice if Shaka could bring in a kid who could contribute that much, but it's not easy. Hopefully Parham and Owens will be that. If not, we have two freshmen this year who have shown promise and who will be relied upon more as sophomores next year.
my point in using UConn as the benchmark is that Hurley is cookin’.  He’s replaced Jay Wright as the big dog.  With freshmen it’s always a roll of the dice, of course. One of them or both might be great next season. But to maintain our place as a top 3 conference team, and unless a stud transfer comes on board (should a scholarship open up) imo we need some impact action from a newbie.

Intrigued if the staff has talked to Niko Bundalo on WRA. Seems like a Ben Gold sort of player that would slot in nicely.

Agreed. I hope Shaka has at least kicked the tires on that kid. 6’11 guys who shoot 40% from 3 don’t grow on trees.

In last night radio show Stevie was the player featured and Shaka emphasized how important for him is having four year players. Told the crowd something very close to "see, I love that you got to really know Stevie he will be here for 4 years vs a guy that is here 1 or 2 years. If that is what we have you don't get to know the players."

Yes. Hopefully others on here heard him. Coach loves coaching and developing four year players.
