They started playing a little more drop but it was only semi-effective. TK was getting into the big's body and drawing contact. Still doesn't explain moving entirely away from it with about 3 minutes left. As well as it was working I would've spammed it on almost every possession if nothing else than to create some structure on offense.

St John's full court pressure began at the 4 minute mark and if we didn't turn it over, we were disrupted and late to get into our actions.  I don't think it was a function of us going away from it as much as St. John's taking us out of it and doing everything possible to disrupt that as it was clear TKO and Oso had it going.

Pitno is a hall of fame coach, so it only stands to reason he made the adjustments that took that away.

Wow ... you'd have really blown a gasket had we lost. Winning this one probably saved you an expensive ER trip.

We were favored by 1 and won by 1 on the road against a team that has caused many others trouble.

I wish it would have been a little easier at the end, but it wasn't ... and our guys still came through.

yes. Shaka's sub patterns are odd. It's as if he has no feel for the flow of the game. Zaide on a roll...take him out? What?? The team has regressed some both in season and from last season, but so has Shaka in some ways. Substitution patterns being what really jumps out at me of late.

I'll take this win seven days a week. There are a lot of negative folks on scoop and time will tell if they know ball or not. Lot is basketball yet to be played before March but I think this is a win that will age well.

This game today was a great win.

I agree great win.  This team has been struggling and did so the whole first half.
To come back down 6 at the half and win on the road against a good team who was also highly motivated given they just dropped 2.  That is a GREAT WIN.  Even if it's only by 1 point.   We may look back on this as the day MU turned it around

This is a good team.   They are getting everyone's best shot.  Injuries and shooting slumps are part of it.   Perhaps some were spoiled by the success last year and thought it was the new normal.   Perhaps some of those were on the team.  Who knows?

Once upon a time, every conference road win was celebrated.   Perhaps that mindset should be revisited.

Goose, no doubt some posts are crazy, mine included. But the common link is we all want MU to be a consistent nationally prominent winner. However, and in defense of all posters that might get slightly bent during the game...MU can be soooo frustrating. It just seems that in so many seasons, especially from Buzz's final season, through Wojo and now Shaka (exception being 2022/23 regular season and BE tourney) it's often migraine inducing self-inflicted daggers. MU was up 13 with 4-ish minutes to go!!! MU misses 4 straight free throws late!!! Can't hit 3's better than 20%!!!! Sure, there's great wins along the way, such as the KU beat down in Maui. But how MU plays, how MU is at times coached (the UW, SH, Butler games come to mind as does late in today's game)...yeah, it creates posting that might create some head scratching, justifiably so imo. But I do love everyone's passion for MU basketball being great!

If all starters were gassed at the end, why didn't Shaka play Norman in second half?  He played like a minute in first, picked up two fouls and sat after that.  Is he that bad?  If so maybe he is not the future point guard. Why did he sit, maybe Shaka has no faith in the guy?

Tre has had plenty of chances to seize the opportunity with the injuries and so far has been...less than stellar. Freshman year Sean seemed more ready than Tre is this year, I was not high on Sean at all.
