Had a strange bit of synchronicity today. Doing some dog-sitting in Chicago this evening for a dear friend, I get a notification on my Meta/FB from Villanova Basketball. It's announcing Jay Wright's Birthday. I leave a HBD wish for him, note how classy he is, and also identify myself as a Marquette fan. About an hour later I'm watching a replay of The 2023 Players Championship on Golf Channel. I get another notification from the same FB post informing me of a "like". Out of nowhere I say to myself, "wouldn't it be great if our players could honor Shaka's birthday this coming Spring, maybe with an NCAA Championship?!"
I only knew his day was in March or April, so as I'm Googling his birth date, I just have this really strong internal feeling Marquette is going to be playing in the Championship game. April 8 comes as the answer. A quick cross-check of the Final Four title game date , and bam 💥....Monday April 8, 2024!!! Happy Birthday Jay Wright! Merry Christmas to all, and may April 8 be a (very) Good Night!!

In a preseason interview, Kam talked about wanting to get Shaka a win on his birthday, so the team is definitely aware

I was at French Lick playing golf in October - got our Warriors at 25-1 at the casino there.
