His rebounding for a guard is SPECIAL. Knack for where it's going and elevates easily.

I'm imagining a lineup of Zaide at the 2, Owens at the 3, Parham at the 4 in a few years and thinking we can win rebounding battles and still turn teams over.

Also AWESOME getting over screens. Reminds me of how Jrue Holiday gets over screens. Into the ball handler and then gets very upright and slithers around it.

I agree.  He's going to be a great defender/player for us.  He shut Pierre down, who had been giving us problems.

And what would that be?  He gave up 1 bucket on a dribble drive in which the Providence player had an angle on him when he got the ball?

Did Zaide foul a 3 point shooter like our upperclassment did tonight?

His 3 was not a great choice and he was late on a couple switches. I think at the end you go with your A guys. He did and it worked.

I am a fan of Zaide.    He played really good minutes tonight.   He took an untimely 3, gave up an easy drive to Carter, and was pulled.    Freshman stuff.   As I said, I can't wait to see what more experience and more development bring out of him.

His 3 was fine.

The drive was just a good play. Carter was patient on the Oso hedge, Oso recovered and Carter attacked, and Oso got sealed. Zaide got back in the play but wasn't able to fully get in front of Carter.

Only bad play was the 3.

As soon as it missed, Shaka signaled to his bench.

Shaka disagreed.

Are you going to trust Shaka or me?

He can shoot and was wide open.  Hardly a bad shot.

We had a few Marquetters over for tonight's game and for a few minutes there, Zaide was the talk of the group. He had a really nice stretch.

But let's be honest ... even if all those guys you named turn out to be superstars, we'll only be any good if Shaka hits the portal for a few aircraft carriers who shoot midrange J's.

The idea of the 3 was fine.  I'm not sure if scared is the word for how he looked, but everyone in the arena and at home knew that shot wasn't going in, including Zaide.

Yeah - Not sure I agree that his 3 was a bad shot.  It was an open look, and was right on target in a game he made his first one.  He's got great form and arc on his jumper which I feel makes him a solid shooter.

Shaka definitely chose to ride the vets and it worked down the stretch.  However, I don't feel Joplin was on his game at all in the second half.  As a reuslt, I still would have been fine riding Zaide.

If that's a first half shot it's fine. But time and situation made it not a great shot. Kam and Jop can take that, but even that, had a chance to run clock while holding onto a lead and still plenty of time to get a great look. Certainly wasn't a crazy bad shot, but would've liked a longer possession there.

Yeah if that were Kam or Jop, it would have at least been shot with confidence.  Even Chase.

English was happy to give up that shot.

It simply was too early in the clock in that situation, and just plain unnecessary. You can get that shot any time. It did Providence a favor.

Ok, maybe I was wrong.

I didn't have an issue with the shot itself but in terms of the situation and time on the clock perhaps it wasn't the best decision.

I still don't hate the shot and love he had the confidence to take it.
