Discovered this completely by accident, not sure if anyone had posted this here before. John Philip Sousa wrote a march in 1924 for Marquette after they granted him an honorary doctorate.

As a former instrument player, I had never come across this. Pretty cool!

Learned a lot from the video. Sousa received first honorary doctorate from MU .
