Yeah, that Jolpin guy has to go.

He falls down because he's trying to replace O-Max.

Kokel, Jonas, Iggodorro and Michelin deserve to be starters, but that Jolpin's gotta go.

His alter ego only scored 19 crucial points against UCLA, helping make the Kansas game even possible, but Jolpin's gotta go.

All of you replying in jest, don't take his bait. If Joplin or his family read those replies and didn't understand the context it would be hurtful.

Dear David and David's family-

Thank you for your efforts on and off the court.  You're an incredible representative of the university and community.  You've worked incredibly hard to become the best player you can be and we look forward to your contributions moving forward and think the best awaits you

David Joplin has improved a lot from a year ago and also now does a lot of the dirty work that does not show up in the box scores. I give him a lot of credit for the work he has put in. I thought when he hit the three last night that the team needed to get him another shot, but it was not to be. Opposing teams know that both David and Kam can kill you if they get hot, so getting shots for both of them is going to be hard some games. David will have his nights when he goes off (like the Butler game last year) and everyone will be extremely glad he is a key part of this team. Plus, he seems to be a high-quality guy.

This thread was started for nothing other than to get a reaction and attention to the OP.  So well done Don Kogus.

Jolp will definitely play a big role on this team moving forward. Truthfully, I am somewhat happy with exposed flaws because a couple of them are easy fixes. Not a tremendous amount for this team to clean up, but his flaws can be improved and quickly. Only concern, can he make the improvements a habit or does revert to old habits when he gets caught.

Goose--I agree it's an easier fix than most think. I think there's already been some progress on the old habits. I think Tyler would be a good person to chat with and emulate about how to improve from where he's at now though. Tyler makes decisions quickly. If something isn't working, it's a dish out fast. Jop is like 50/50 on those decisions at this point but can get a little stuck in mud at times. Growth during the season is becoming a hallmark of Shaka teams here.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Jolpin found himself having to guard the giant in the lane from time to time. All things considered he did a good job of it.

I wish Joplin was 50/50 but not as bad some think. Three of the last four games are not made for his style. Best part of Kolek, IMO, is that he is both fast and patient. Another issue for Jop is that played a good amount down low in HS and habits were formed.

It is amazing how quickly this board becomes so negative concerning certain talented players.

Time to appreciate the talent of this entire team, their commitment to each other and their hard work for Marquette. There are likely 5-10 teams that can become national champions. MU is in that elite group. This has been accomplished in 3 years by a team not including one McDonald's All American.

This team will continue to improve and strive for a NC. They are keeping their commitment. It is time the fan base recognizes and appreciates the sacrifice that all members of this team makes every day for Marquette.

Oh, no! MU lost to Purdue in Maui. It's time to recalculate our expectations quickly. Of course, we should all agree: Joplin didn't cost us this game. He plays a little out of control at times, but the effort is there. The Boilermakers won because Edey is a monster. And he has the footwork to get in front of the rim and get easy dunks. Naturally, he gets rebounds. He pushes butt.  It in that last game every carom of the rim dropped right into his hands. It was effort and he didn't fumble them away. It was hard to watch. In the first half MU rebounded well. I was happy to see it and was optimistic. And then of course not enough shots fell from the corner. Four inches off- six inches off- Nothing would go and hardly a splash from outside the arc.

Hey nothing to be concerned about. You beat the #1 team in the country and you lose to the next #1 team in the country by what? Onward we go.
