Please God don't let the Mich/Ohio St. game go to overtime.  Both of these teams are garbage btw.

Woof.  Bad loss for the Buckeyes.

The fact that Brad Brownell has made it 14 seasons at Clemson is kind of amazing. He hasn't really done anything, but every so often puts together a good enough season to keep them happy.  He probably gets another contract extension after this season even though they'll stumble to a 7 or 8 seed and lose in the first round.

It helps that there are zero expectations there but still...the guy's made millions being just above average.

I mean they hired him off of 3 straight years of finishing 3rd in the Horizon and no postseason berths after a good first year.  Almost like they knew they were getting a guy who would not be terrible but won’t be good enough to leave.

But he’s absolutely had the blessing of no/low expectations.  Before they made that random S16, Clemson hadn’t won a round of 64 game in the NCAAs since 97.
Purnell set that ceiling of regular NCAA berths and never winning a game.  Couple that with Clemson becoming a football monster at the same time and Brownell has had the perfect cover for mediocrity.  Especially when he periodically gets them into the top 25.

What’s more surprising to me is their random offense exploding. Clemson averaged more than 71 points once. In the last 10 seasons.  Normally around 66-67 PPG, B10 style slogs.  His WSU teams scored even less….now they are averaging over 80 this year.  Panda is not wrong calling them exciting but it’s so out of character

It's funny because its become an inside joke in the industry too. Bang average and never leaves. Just like a cockroach.

He's on the hot seat every time his contract is close to being up, then has a better than expected season and earns an extension. They just need to put him on year-to-year and he'll have Clemson putting a national championship in basketball next to the football one in no time.

Storr looks like a 1st round pick to me.  Hopefully he goes pro in June.

He's not on any mocks I've seen. Do they have any Seniors or are they all back?

Thank you Penn St.

Losing to an absolute shyte Penn State team ... gotta love it. Now if only some folks will tell us again how Madison is a total lock for the B26 title.

Gard has obviously lost his team. They don't have any players other than their top 3.

Wahl, who is using his covid bonus year this year.

Crowl and Klesmit use their covid bonus year next year.

He can't defend right now but his offensive ceiling is high imo.

Pretty sure Wahl is in his Covid year, so he’ll be done.

Can someone explain the Storr love to me? I've seen it from a couple of people on and off scoop. Averaging 15/3/1 while shooting 31% from three I would put in the "very good" category, not the "great" category.

He's 6'7 and has an explosive first step.  He's not an elite shooter but he's capable.  I think his overall athleticism makes him a likely first rounder but I could be wrong.

For those who would like specifics regarding tonight's games, Penn State 87, Wisconsin 83 Final.

Arkansas took down Texas A&M with a last second basket, 78-77.

Agreed, his athleticism is really good, explosive to the rim, not a great shooter but will improve as he gets older.  He could be a first rounder this year.

Same, I was hearing NPOY buzz for him the other day and he doesn't even have third team All-American numbers. He's maybe second or third team in league, but that's about it.

Madison brought in a starter and solid contributor from the transfer portal; Marquette didn't. Madison is moving up in the rankings; Marquette is falling.

Madison shot more free throws than PSU and made a higher percentage of 3s, but all I see is how bad the refs were and how lucky PSU got from 3.

Nothing about the 60% 2 point percentage they gave up though…
