Illinois absolutely destroying NW even without Shannon.

Speaking of fraud teams ... Northwestern.

That was a great win over Purdue, though. Very Fairleigh Dickensonian.

So that takes care of one of the top 2 spots.

The other is just by default with the TSJ news.

The BIG Ten is very bad outside those 3.

Ohio State is ok. Michigan State is ok. That's about it.

Is he officially out for the season or is it possible an investigation will be completed relatively soon?

Because charges have officially been brought, he will be suspended from play until he's found not guilty or the charges are dropped.  Not guilty will likely take awhile. Charges being dropped could happen tomorrow or never.  Without knowing the details,  impossible to say.

It's strange to me that they apparently knew about this incident in Sept.

Iirc, the school released a statement claiming they didnt know.  Even if they did,  there was likely nothing they could have done until now.

That is incorrect.  They did know of the incident but because no charges had been filed, he was allowed to play.  Once charges were filed, he was immediately suspended.

There was an ongoing investigation by local police and U of I went to Shannon and asked for his side, and he likely said it was consensual.  Can't fault the University for doing nothing when there is no evidence out there.

The Sultan

My recollection was they knew of AN incident, but they weren't aware of the nature of the incident.

Well clearly the school knew something happened and their statement was incorrect.

Classic Trohl Center refs

They must alternate between the Kohl Center and the Dunk or whatever they call it these days.

Last night was amazing.  Iowa isn't a good defensive team by any stretch but they haven't been prone to heavy fouling.  Not seeing a Frantrum from that game where he nears explosion is a miracle

Chucky Hepburn shooting a blistering 44.1% eFG%. Bum. Good news for uw-Madison is the last time he scored double digits was in November. Usage & %shots way down this year. Storr with some nice comps; bummer they got him to go to their extension

Why is it clear the school knew something? My experience is that police almost never share things with universities unless they have to. Usually schools find out about these things because the complainant tells the school. Since the complainant in this case is likely a kansas native, it seems likely that they wouldn't have thought to report it to the university of Illinois.

If they did know something,  what would you have expected the school to do?

I think school had limited options while waiting for any further info. Process had to play out.  However, school also made the decision after knowing there was an investigation/allegation to make him front and center face of the program.  If UofI made a mistake, that was it.

My guess is that the people who made the decision to make him front and center of the program probably had no idea that any investigation was taking place.

As an independent, they only have three games scheduled in all of February.

Notre Dame woooooooooooof

Have been looking at some how pulling off back to back ACC wins

But just had possibly the most inept final 3 minutes you will ever see from a basketball team

Just lost at the buzzer
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....
