UNC beat us in the tournament  2 years ago, didnt make the tourney the following year. Sparty beat us last year, look whats happening. I think teams will let us win the tourney this year.

Nice.

Has there been a top 5 preseason team that didn't make the tournament?

They miss hauser bad. He did a lot of little things for them and also was able to knock down the 3.

Also I wasn’t in love with their pre season hype. They were a 7 seed in the tournament who beat a Marquette w a clearly banged up Kolek to get to the s16.

Cute note from Yahoo Sports:

With 4 points in his USC debut, Bronny passed his dad on the all-time college basketball scoring chart.

UNC was number 1 last year....

Ty.  But this is more surprising in light of Izzo's career.

"OMG, that's amazing!!!1! Has that ever happened before?!!"
"Yeah. Last season."
"But it's a lot more amazing this year!!"

Gotta love Muggsy. Such an unusual mix of enthusiasm and cluelessness. I'll admit that I'd watch if a documentary crew followed him around for a few days. I imagine him opening his shades in the morning, "Wow!  Look at that glowing yellow ball in the sky!!! It's hard to look at. Have you ever seen anything like that before?!!"

Yeah I am not sure how the defending national runner-up, who was returning pretty much all but one of their contributors, and was the pre-season #1, is less shocking than this year's MSU team, but I guess its just Muggsy being Muggsy.

It's called a complete analysis.  UNC is coached by Hubert Davis, Mich St. by Tom Izzo.  Night and day pedigree.

Hell, the title game that they also had a big lead in.

that UNC team had much more business being ranked where they were

The same Hubert Davis that lead virtually the exact same teamthem to the Final Four the year prior.

Fixed that for you.

Night and day...

I agree. UNC not making the tournament after making it to the final game with almost the exact same team is far more surprising that the fighting Izzos potentially not making the tournament.

Surprised a Wardle-coached defense is letting him abuse them

Alabama was my second guess, Kansas third. But Memphis checks out as well.

Was just looking at the Net Ranking and T-Rank. Surprisingly enough the Big 10 has every team in the top 100 in both except for Penn St who is at 111 I believe. This causes almost every game to fall into a quad 1 or quad 2 game. Very interesting as it seems the top few teams can pack there resumes and even middle of the road teams can secure wins worth more than other conferences. Most likely see 8-9 teams in even with a down year.

If he assimilates into that team well, Memphis is going to be a tough out in March.

Do you mean Kenpom instead of NET?

Because the current NET rankings include:

123 Indiana
135 Penn St
153 Maryland
