We have all lost a Friend.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

No drugs, no foul play. Found in a jacuzzi in an apparent drowning after having played 2 hours of pickleball in the morning.

Are we supposed to guess who is next or report the news?

My guess is Lisa Kudrow.

The latter, but the former could be interesting.

I think we should probably hold off on the bolded until we have an autopsy.  I read “no evidence of drugs at the scene”, aka around the hot tub, but given Perry’s unfortunate history, they would likely have been in a bottle in his bathroom cabinet.  I can’t recall anyone notable who accidentally drowned in a jacuzzi/bath whilst sober.  Reminded me of Whitney Houston’s death when I first read about it.

Incredibly sad for someone who had been open about their battles, especially recently. I was never a Friends fan, but he was great in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which was very underrated.  Kind of crazy how fairly top of mind and well known he was despite not being in a movie since before 2010 and only being in notable TV series in the last decade

Yeah I don't disagree. He's had so many health problems in addition to his psychological/addiction stuff too.

Good use of "whilst." Reminds me of my British sister-in-law.

I met Matthew Perry once at Stew Leonard's, the famous Connecticut grocery store.  About 16 years ago we were returning home from Virginia.  It was later Saturday evening and Stew's was still open and we stopped in with the kids who were  6 & 4 at the time.  We were getting our shopping in for the week and the store was practically empty so late.  Matthew entered simultaneously with two friends and was traversing the Stew's maze along with us.  He cracked jokes the whole time, pushed all the buttons to activate the animatronic sets Stew's is famous for and couldn't have been nicer to my kids " and several times asked them" Isn't this place amazing?".  He apparently was filming a movie in Norwalk at the time.

He apparently spent 9 million dollars to try and get clean and sober.  That's astonishing.  I'm no expert on alcohol or drug addiction, but those that I have known that had alcohol issues have only gotten better by winning the battle internally.  Rehab is an ephemeral solution in a lot of cases.   He may very well have gotten sober but clearly he put his body through hell for a very long time.

Word is that he died of embarrassment after it was found out that he had been playing pickleball.

Most can't win the internal battle without first winning the external battle. Rehab (good ones at least) are meant to help you win the external battle and give you tools to help win the long term internal battle. Most addicts can't simply white knuckle their way to sobriety without assistance.

We know for a Fox News fact that the vaccine has killed millions.
