"You should own a 12 gauge pump shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot as your primary home defense weapon. You should own a 9 mm or larger semi-automatic pistol with a manual safety - I recommend a Beretta, a SIG Sauer, or a Ruger - and at least one AR-15. You should own a holster and multiple magazines for the pistol, and multiple magazines and a sling for the AR. Keep them all loaded. Keep lots of ammunition for all three them on hand in case trouble breaks loose. Go to the range every few weeks to keep you hand in. This is many decades of firearms experience talking."
