Not a big fan of his coaching, but changed the program with his final 4 appearance. Good speech!

MUfan12

He's a big part of this program's story. Glad he's back in the fold.

It's going to take me some more time to come around on the tan one.  Has he dumped a big bag of coin into the NIL fund?

He's mended fences and moved on.
agree 100%.
(Did good things here, for sure. Former MU players of his speak well of him. Made a move he thought was better...wondering if in hindsight TC still feels that way?)

Dont really get why theres any more time needed for anyone to come around.

He did what he did here which was objectively great for the program. Got a massive opportunity and took it.

Ever since then he has done absolutely nothing but support the program. For the most part things didnt go ideally for him when he left(so no reason to be jealously bitter) and we are currently in a fantastic spot with our current coach.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Yeah, it didn't take me long to get over it at all. No idea why this still bothers people.

It's been 15 years, how much more time do you need?

You could see it at the 100 year anniversary, he genuinely cares about Marquette. Play Shaka wouldn't have brought him in if he thought otherwise.

I am sure in hindsight many here know the move was better now that we have Shaka.

The only thing I hold over Crean was his massive choke against Cuse in 2013. IU wins that I think we win that E8 matchup against them.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

We should have beaten Syracuse ourselves.

Yeah but I'm not going to blame us, blaming IU and Crean is easier.

Boeheim made adjustments from the game played in the BC. Took too long to figure it out and they just didn't have enough offense.

That's "future Marquette Athletic Director Tom Crean."

Knight Commission

I give him a ton of credit. Best ex coach in MU history.

I'd much rather he fulfill his FIL's old post than AD.

It's helped me that he didn't reach a higher level of success at Indiana. He has been always positive about MU and one of our bigger National cheerleaders.

I would think he's around the same age as Bill Scholl and I hope Bill isn't going anywhere

Scholl's about a decade older.

Scholl is 66 and I'd be surprised if he was around for more than 2-3 years. I don't think he'll still be here at 70. Crean is 57, younger than Scholl was when he got the job.

Superfan

They did a documentary about him when he was in his final days at IN.  He seems to have evolved into a pretty sincere guy who cares a lot about the right things.  Since he left MU he has made many appearances at MU and has been super complimentary about the program.  I was bitter when he left but moved on from that a long time ago.  I respect him and appreciate his contribution to our program.
