Ben Gold's health has to be the biggest concern right now...nice place to be.  Guys with his skill set don't grow on trees...amazing recruting job on that one...hope Al can find similar range in his development.

The Oso interview was good as well...his comments on not returning next year aren't surprising...

Oso will have to be able to make jumpers to play at the NBA level.  But he's a perfect fit in our system.

I thought Shaka's comments about Lowery were very interesting. I cannot remember an MU team with this depth.  And he's a big guard.  I'm looking forward to watching him gel with this team as well as Ross breaking out.

I don't see him in the NBA...would think he's worth more in the NCAA then overseas?

Chase Ross has the skill set to be a big time contributor to this team right from the get go this season, IMO. Nice jump shot, goes hard to the rim. Quick and explosive. He's ready.

Stevie is such a perfect glue guy for this team and Kam can be truly explosive but Ross has an overall skill set  that will get him on the floor for major mins imo.  Again, I could see a number of 4 guard line-ups.  I also think Jones the Younger is more than a competent back-up PG with the potential to be a better Peyton Siva.

Andre Jackson can't shoot a jumper and he's a guard........Oso can find a role there with his ball handling, passing and defensive ability.

Loyd is only one of 3 NBA players to have a Doctorate degree.

He has to have meant from MU, what would the odds be we'd have 2/3 former NBA players w/ doctorates?

Isn't Tony smith a doctor? Thought I recalled Homer saying that a couple times

Maybe. But what about Doc Rivers? He's a real doctor. right?

I'm pretty sure no.

This is all I could find. Interestingly they don't mention Loyd.

I thought of Ulyce Payne JD, though he was drafted by Detroit he was cut and never played in the NBA.

Looks like Larry is in the Weed business. He never played in the NBA, however.

Great accomplishment, but not a doctorate in the sense that the term is being used here.

Shaq is one of the three.

Not sure if they are counting a Doctor of Education (EdD) here. Lloyd has a PhD.

As quoted, 69 says "doctorate". Don't know who the third is other than honorary (Matumbo)?

I thought of Ulyce Payne JD, though he was drafted by Detroit he was cut and never played in the NBA.

Funny how on the page captioned "NBA Players with PhD" they say, "The most popular NBA player with a Ph.D. is Shaquille O'Neal"; list Shaq first; and then conclude Shaq's entry with, "While [Shaq's Ed.D.] isn't technically a Ph.D., this achievement makes him the most educated NBA player of all time."

Then they discuss Mutombo and the fact that he has a couple honorary doctorates...

That's some high quality information on that page. Notwithstanding the caption, they don't manage to list even a single NBA player with a Ph.D.

This is where Lloyd says he is only one of three NBA players to get his doctorate.

I have no idea what the correct number is, but I note that in that article he states, "I'm only the third player in the history of the NBA to get my doctorate." This could be interpreted as something different than one of only three with a doctorate. It's an interesting issue. I'd be curious if he means he was the third to do it, or if means he's still one of three ever.

Also, the article notes that he has an EdD (not a PhD) so if he means "ever" then Shaq would be one of the other two. It's surprising if there are only three NBA players in history who went on to get a doctorate.
