With the death of the Pac-12 imminent and the ACC teetering, the future of college athletics has never been murkier.  Is this a possibility?

Doomed.

I think it's possible.  May not be likely, but it's an interesting proposition.

If you're Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State, why are you sharing the pot with Indiana and Purdue?

If you're LSU, Georgia and Alabama, why are you sharing the pot with Vandy and South Carolina?

Is someone or some entity has the money to build a super league that poaches the 16 best brands of college football, why not?

It's an interesting thought exercise.  The gap is only widening between the haves and have nots.

College football, who cares.

College basketball fans should probably care a little bit

I don't think those top programs/coaches  really want to play top competition every week for four months and go 6-6. A handful of easy wins every season to get to 9-10 wins makes everyone look and feel better.

There has never been a profitable minor league team in any sport to my knowledge.  College sports is insanely profitable.  I don't see them abandoning an established cash cow to try something that has never worked in the past

If it's guaranteed money up front with a television/media rights deal attached, I think it's much more feasible than a minor league.

I don't think it's likely at all but there's some ideas there that make sense.
