For those that like to tout that Oso and Kolek could still be @ MU in 24-25, this doesn't eliminate the possibility that one of them will, but it certainly makes it less likely.

Note:  I'm still listing one spot open for both years...but that's really one total scholarship available in each year.

I don't think it makes it less likely. We already saw the staff take players on scholarship that guaranteed players in the fold would have to leave. Taking Hamilton when we're at 12 for next year doesn't mean one of those two will leave, it just means someone will leave before their full eligibility is exhausted.

...seeks out contact...

That tracks with what TAMU said about him being a football player.    His nearly non-existent stats as a  junior are consistent with only taking up the game a couple of years ago.      I am postulating here, but perhaps he was planning on football but got too tall and changed his plan.    Lost weight, started learning the basics.

Regardless, coach him up and get him ready for 24-25.    At this point, that looks like quite the roster.

A backup, may become a backup to a backup if they don't improve.

Sounds right. He was a 6'5" 300-lb defensive tackle not too long ago. Now listed as 5-6 inches taller and 60-70 pounds lighter.

Because the plan is to not get devastated by injuries and are forced to play him.

Lol

Of 328 high major players w at least 60% %Mins last season, Dexter's ORtg was #328, by a large margin.

Ooofta

He'll be okay.  He just transferred down again to the Mountain West.

Shaka talked about this kid like Crean on Wade in 01 or Buzz probably about Embiid.

Its puzzling how it was first reported that he was 6'11" and then another reported listed him at 6'10" and Shaka said he's 6'9".

Shaka talks Hamilton.         .....just you wait, just you wait......

Interested in people's thoughts on how, as Tower mentioned, Shaka noted his relishing physicality and contact, as compared to the current team. Was this intended also to motivate the roster, given our penchant for sometimes shying away from contact and ultimately losing to a more physical team in MSU? I understand it wasn't necessarily the Spartans' physicality which led to our NCAA demise, but I just wonder if our guys are challenging each other in this regard. It seems like it's one of our very few Achilles' heels going into this season. I feel like Shaka maybe was issuing a challenge while he vividly described Caedin's game.

bilsu

I thought of Sanogo, when Shaka talked about physicality.

Here's what to know about Marquette basketball newcomer Caedin Hamilton, a 6-9 freshman from California

Thanks for posting that outstanding piece.

Big props to Shaka and Hatt for identifying potential early. Kudos to Hamilton, too. He's easy to root for, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in a Marquette uniform.

Indeed.

Shaka seems to really value Cody and his recruiting abilities.

Now we just need Mr. Hatt to smile a little bit at the end of that bench 😂
