seems there has been an increase in playas hitting from both sides of the plate.  must be something due to the fact that it increases one's chances of getting the extra base hits regardless of the pitcher's proclivities, eyn'a? 

    there have been a couple of documented pitchers who can throw effectively with both arms, but cannot switch up mid batter which has to be a big relief for the batter.  imagine going up against a flame throwing lefty only to switch up mid way thru your at bat and then catch a totally unexpected knee buckling knuckle curve from the right side.  talk about taking the bat right outta your hands
