...everyone's a super hero, everyone's a Captain Kirk.....
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I bet an alien shows up for the hearing.

I hear they can transform into human shapes - so sadly we will never know.

This is a common explanation for the Fermi paradox.  I am partial to the water world and zoo theories... simply because the are amusing to think about.

Given the vast distances in space, it make sense that we are all just part of a cosmic zoo and the distances are our moats keeping us apart.
Yeah, I have always thought the universe is some middle school science fair project for some super being race kid. They got a participation ribbon for the effort.

Someone said they will not be presenting any flying saucers and little green men.  Now I am disappointed.

This is mostly where I come out, but I think we tend to overly-deify theoretical alien civilizations on account of their necessarily-superior technology.  But that doesn't necessarily follow. Just because their technology would be so much more advanced does not mean they wouldn't have some of the same "universal" motivations that would make humans interested in other less advanced civilizations if we had the means.  Pure curiosity, rogue alien actors, and of course sex stuff are all reasons members of alien civilizations might want to f**k around on Earth.

There is a novella called "Three Worlds Collide" by Eliezer Yudkowsky that to some extent (an in a bit of an absurdist type style) deals with the aspect of how civilizations/cultures/morals/ethics may differ between alien civilizations encountering each other.

I've always enjoyed it for its absurdist way of looking at the issue.

So, how many here have seen a UFO?

I'm not super knowledgeable about planes or helicopters, so most things I've seen are UFOs

I saw something flying way up in the sky in Duluth probably 5 years ago that I still have no idea what it was.  So in that sense it was an unidentified flying object to me, but I'm sure there's a simple explanation for what it was.
