Hackett demoted..but not really demoted. Because this is a really "something" quote:

"Staying that as well, just another testament to the human being that Nathaniel Hackett is — the fact that he's going to give this everything in his body, and heart, and soul, and he's going to be a big part of the success we're going to have going forward from an offensive perspective. And just, I feel so fortunate that he's staying with us. I mean, here's a guy who's been a head coach in this league and willing to draw cards, willing to do whatever it takes — and the true heart of a servant. Just, I feel so fortunate that he's on our staff that he's in our lies and I can't speak enough good things about him."
"I am one of those who think the best friend of a nation is he who most faithfully rebukes her for her sins—and he her worst enemy, who, under the specious and popular garb of patriotism, seeks to excuse, palliate, and defend them" - Frederick Douglass

Some were saying he couldn't Hackett.

As dysfunctional as this already is, I wonder what December and January are going to be like

Nice of Rodgers writing up that statement for the new head coach to read.

Of course Davante didn't make a difference. Rodgers is 23rd in QBR, and 24th in both passer rating and yards per attempt. He can still make decent throws now and again, but he is done. Early last night he was throwing everything short and it was working. When the Steelers started defending receivers closer to the line, he couldn't do anything.

I think its becoming clear that a good portion of his resurgence in 2020 and 2021 was due to playing in a more dynamic offense. But he was too stubborn to understand that, and these are the results.

I keep looking at their schedule and see a lot of easy games but maybe they're an easy game for their opponents.

I'm not sure I'd trust the Jets offensive staff to recognize how to properly use Rodgers at this point either, not taking into account his stubbornness.

And the defense is clearly overrated.  Good pieces but not one I think can carry a mediocre offense.

Yeah they have the 27th easiest remaining schedule. But they would have to go 8-2...maybe 7-3 with some breaks...to get in the playoffs but I'm not sure I see that happening. Like you, I don't see anything that suggests that there is a spark of something there and its just been a bad break or two. They just don't look good.

Crazier things though...

I definitely hope that Rodgers and the Jets do not make the playoffs, but I am not going to be happy until they are eliminated. As others have said, they play a crazy easy schedule the rest of the way and anything is possible.

I still think the QB takes a hit that ends it anyway.

Yup. Almost all of Rodgers' yardage last night came on 3-yard passes that his receivers turned into big-gainers. Most of the passes he tried more than 10 yards downfield were either incomplete or intercepted.
