Just seeing this. Despite the makeup of the Leadership Team, the 501c3 is not affiliated with Marquette University.

I'm not sure what the best forum is for this, but with this being the off season I really want to try to understand our NIL organization better.  I would love for those in the know to give the average fan a peak behind the curtain.

I am asking because everyone seems to know a NIL budget seems like it will be the lifeblood of a program in the future. Obviously the core and backbone of the NIL will likely be the top end donors, but you would think that the mid and low level doners would have a as well.

The last two years I have made a small donation to Be The Difference.   A couple hundred dollars...I'm not in Milwaukee I don't typically get to go downtown and spend that money on tickets, parking and food...but Marquette basketball gives me a tremendous amount of entertainment, joy and pride.  So because of that I'm able to justify the spend on the team.  In my head I'm buying everyone a dinner at Marquette Gyro🤣

What is starting to bug me is that for the last 2 years my credit card is charged on the site,  but I have not received a single email from the NIL.  Not an email confirming my donation, not an automated thank you, and not a follow up thanking me for my donation and asking for my continued support.   I'm not asking for an audience with Travis or a shake with Shaka...I'm just looking for some sort of response. I know there are a lot of things that go into running an organization.  I understand that I'm not a whale...but I feel a IT and Marketing intern could up the touch points with small donors...or at very least acknowledge there support.

Now off my soapbox, and back to my 7 step program of processing the end of a season and the loss of two giants who have lifted our program the last two seasons.

They still have a pic and comments from Duffy prominently on the site listing her as the coach still,  so not surprised they haven’t sent you an email…

Regardles of their limited communication or slow response to taking down the Megan Duffy pics, this is the lifeblood of the program.

Give generously without concern.  For a school like MU, the school's collective will make up 95% of what a student athlete gets in NIL money.

Musk can steal billions in tax deductions, but God forbid a man making 80k a year, trys to deduct $300!

If the IRS eventually denies NIL collectives 501(c)(3) status, previous donations would no longer be tax deductible.
