Might be the kiss of death.   I’ll be happy once that Vermont win happens.  The rest is gravy.

Gonna be tough to play the doubted card this week.

Most every bracket I see has us in at least the elite 8.

Heck even Mark Titus on his show today was giving some goofy reasons for ruling teams out one of them was "coaches with too much energy" with Shaka being one of the main ones he named..........still had us going to the FF before losing to Bama.

Norlander was super high on us.

Time to back it up
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Right

The “ we are getting dissed “ has kinda evaporated!

Almost every one has MU in the E8 or
F4 !! Go Warriors

But … yes … come out strong… stomp
Vermont and go from there

Our defense showed up strong at the BET and overall We looked very impressive.  If our guys stay focused this is going to be a lot of fun.

Not to ruin the motivational ploy, but I picked us to win it all in my work bracket that I put together this morning.

You know, I have been multitasking at work, watching, like many, all the Youtube bracket builders, from the respected to the absurd, and one thing has become clear to me, we are not under the radar anymore. Such a mixed blessing. I'd turn on FoxSports ever ready for the next game to be the one when we fold, no it is the next won... but we rolled or pulled out the W with swag almost by destiny. But, now the nation knows it.

It is a gas hearing people say, "I like Marquette for the E8, the FF, or as my dark horse", "I like what Shaka has done at Marquette," etc. One guy said, "I never watched Kolek all year, but I sat down and watched the BE tourney, and damn, that dude can ball." I am hearing "Steve Mitchell this, OMax very underrated that, Kam Jones is canning 3s from the popcorn machine"... we are under the radar no more with the good and the bad it brings.

The Vermont game is big, for the much needed tourney victory due for Shaka, his passing Al for most wins in a season, and the removal of own tourney albatross off our neck. I am convinced that one thing we will be on Friday, we will be prepared with our D swarming and 'sustained'.

I just am sitting here rewatching Shaka tear up at the net cutting at MU and at the garden, the cheerleaders pounding the court with their hands during defensive stops like the team does, realizing that this year's magic is so fantastic because it is so ephemeral. From now on, it will be great, but it will be different, nothing will match this season...

Andy Katz has all 8 Big Ten teams winning 1st round.

Penn State in the Elite 8.

Iowa beating Houston to eventually land in the Elite 8.

Purdue and Indiana in his Final Four with Purdue winning it.

When we won at Creighton, I knew I would be picking us to win it all. Really didn't matter what the bracket looked like.

I understand the sentiment, because MU really needs to get that recently-elusive NCAA win (as does Shaka). But when you have the kind of season MU has had and earn a two-seed, playing the second weekend isn’t gravy. It’s expected. This team has certainly raised my expectations.

Me too.

I will be mildly disappointed if we don't make the Final Four, and pretty damn disappointed if we don't play in the second weekend.

The good news is that this team was made to please, not disappoint!

Random fact about our quadrant. 4 of the top 10 offensive rebounding teams in the country are in our quadrant: Purdue, Tennessee, Duke, and Kentucky. Additionally there are two more top 25 offensive rebounding teams in Providence and UL-Lafayette.

Top 25 offensive rebounding teams have been one of our weaknesses this season, accounting for 4/6 of our losses (Purdue, UConn, Providence, and Mississippi State).

Somehow, 4 of those elite offensive rebounding teams in our quadrant (including 3 of the top 10 ones) are on the other side of the bracket, meaning we couldn't face them until the elite 8. The last two (Kentucky and Providence) we couldn't face until the Sweet 16.

As others have said, we couldn't have asked for a better draw.
