When Oso gathers the ball after an opponent's made basket.....he often never establishes himself oob before he throws it inbounds....usually to Tyler. Butler game i saw it twice. Today I saw it once. Saw it earlier in the season as well.
He grabs the ball out the net...jumps towards the baseline, but passes out before he's established a position. Hope it continues to go unnoticed.

Yes. Have noticed.  It was really blatant at least once in the Butler game.

It's his tribute to Kurt Rambis.

Incredible foot work on that after getting smoked.  Almost as good as the dribble, post-Davidson TO

It's completely unnecessary....and hope we don't get a deek ref who decides to call it.

I did notice today that Oso doesn't look at the rim on his FTs until the very last second... very

Yes he. Looks down then up when he will start to release.   But got 4 critical ones today!

Oso missed early this season on FTs. Whatever 50%. Shaka said....watch hes a good FT shooter. Boom.
What concerned me the most was when Jop held the ball and went to the line......I wasn't feeling it. 0-2.
Coupled with Tyler's 0-2 .......

He was really clutch.

So disappointed in Joplin.  I suppose he just hasn't shot many with the game on the line, but still those were awful.

Id rather it gets called at a non-critical portion of a game.  Then its a quick "hey make sure you do this" correct from Shaka or an assistant, and on we go.  Otherwise its Lazar v Missouri 2.0

Joplin has hit a couple 3s over the course of the season, out of rhythm or when he's not totally dialed in, that created or turned momentum completely.  I'll let him slide for a couple of FTs today.  He's the guy who I think can turn into a huge leap 2nd team All-BE caliber player next year.

The Thing

Chanting "MVP" at Kolek totally threw him off his game at the line late.

tower912

Exactly.  Should have been 'P-O-Y'.  Though that can lead to naughtiness from opposing fans.  I imagine that would amuse TKo.

Didn't affect him in Indy when we chanted it.

No one is taking mid range jumpers in this offense.

which one seems to like the show?  he acts likes he's buds with everyone, fist bumping whatever, but what were student/fans saying to him which caused him to halt things briefly?  i had the basket getting in my way, but he ws clearly irked.  didn't notice anyone being removed but security took more notice over there after that.

he shouldn't be hearing any of that but it tells me he thinks more of himself than he should during the game anyway.  he seemed to have a "happy whistle" though.  after a failed call with shaka coming ever so close to another T, he promptly continued on down the court and blew a quick whistle on a ticky-tack just showing shaka who's boss hog

yes, but maybe we need an exception?  players sag off him too much taking away better looks from our gunners

Me too. It became a topic of conversation within our group.

Hey whatever works. Oso is shooting 70% from the line since Jan. 11, and he's made a number of them in late-and-close situations. I actually feel confident when he steps up there needing to make one.

He hit 74% last season, too. His 40% start at the line this season now seems like an outlier.

I think the offense is just fine the way it is.
