A huge thank you to all who went to the game last night. As it turned out, I think every voice, every filled seat mattered to our team. Some traveled far (Tower) and others brought friends and family (Goose, the Knight Commission) to a weekday game. I named just a few who come to mind, but again...thanks to all of you.

For it being a regular season, mid-week, 6pm game this one felt real good. Makes me think of playing Wisconsin back in the day 20 years ago at the BC, on our feet all game long, barely able to stumble out of the place from all the jumping and the...err...libations. Even my 16 yo was like it's about time fans stay on their feet and stay loud.

...and all of us there in spirit watching from afar whose families were grateful for the silence until the last 2 seconds. All our home defibrillators were  fully charged, however.

221 was solidly packed. Probably the first time I've been able to say that this season for a weekday game.

I know Shaka mentioned it in the presser, but I think one of the best parts of the game was the crowd getting behind the team in the 1h when they were feeling on the ropes. That was a huge domino to energize the team.

The crowd was ready to explode in cheers and the team gave them what they came for in that final stretch. When the O-Max tip went down that might be the loudest I have heard the FF.

Finally--the students were GREAT last night. Honestly, they've been pretty great all season. Feel like the FF is going to start becoming a place where opponents do not enjoy playing.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Took our 2.5 year old to her first game and she did great. Fun one to be at. Iggy was the stud of the game for her.

I was legit tired from the game. Fun atmosphere and just love this team. It has been and will continue to be a fun ride.

Yeah, I noticed that even on TV. We got down by 13, not looking good. At that point typically you need a few baskets to get the crowd to rev up, but we scored a single basket to cut it to 11 and the crowd reacted like they just tied it up! It even lifted my spirits on the couch.

All I can say is this is that last night was 100% what I wanted to see the program and fanbase look like for a long period of time. Last night is the type of game that makes casual fans into real fans and gives younger fans the memories that will bring them back for many more games. Marquette is a basketball school and I believe last night was just the beginning of what Shaka's MU Warriors will be over the next decade.

I told a couple of young fans that were jacked up after the game to remember this game. One, who was in early 20's, mentioned Al and I told him "forget Al, this is the Shaka era". It is time to build a program that all fans look forward to see what will happen next.

As much as I loved being at MU during the Al era, I could not agree more. It's the Shaka era. The Al era is a great memory. The Shaka era is here and now. No comparison.

We all notice the connectivity the players have on the floor, but it has really taken a leap this year to include the students and fans in the building. It feels like our crowd is so in sync with what is important to the program now, and it showed in moments like that first half push. There was a sense that if we could just get them over the hump that this thing would become a game again in short order.

Hopefully the boys can play loose and get a road win next week, then come back to a Saturday night sellout which should be a lot of fun.

Us old guys had a great run and it has been nearly five decades since MU made noise for an extended period of time. I 100% hope that every MU fan, young and old, embrace Shaka and the job he is doing. It very well might be just the start of a decade, or longer, of exciting basketball.

Unfortunately, I did not go to Goolsby's pregame, hit Buck Bradleys, and the place was jumping at 4:50 on a Wednesday night. That brought back memories of my family hitting Goolsby's pregame before game in the '70's. Not going to lie, being there with my family made fight tearing up a couple of times last night. MU basketball and family is a great combination. Let's keep building new memories!!!

Having the fanbase in sync with the program is very important. Knowing what the team's identity is and understanding the style makes for better overall fan experience. With that in mind, I still believe that defense and grit will be these programs calling card moving forward.

For all the consternation on the Scoop about available tickets to this game...we had over 16,000 in attendance, a program record for a weekday. Hats off to the crowd.

My wife told me we are obligated to go on Wednesday nights against ranked teams. 4-0 for those games that we've attended that meet that requirement.

Kind of like how my wife told me we shouldn't go to games in Indiana...0-6 in-person (Butler, IU, Purdue)....Finally broke it for Notre Dame haha.

I thought there were more than that at the BC for the MU - UConn both in the top 10 matchup about this time in '09, but I could be mistaken.

Thanks. I came with a group of 8 from La Crosse for that one. We sat in the top row of the entire gym right at half court. Met with Jerry Palm for the first time at Goolsby's before hand.

Loved the fact that the crowd was proactive with the awful start. Instead of the place turning into a morgue the crowd rose up and seemed to draw a line and fired things up. Frustrating game many times, but the crowd stayed into it and brought positive energy. Great to see and be a part of.
